Guess I'm not the only one who's disappointed.

Sure, re-releases are a must, hey they're main characters, but why not a regular wave of four new characters, and maybe two re-releases to go along with that.

That way everyone wins. As it is now, I'm not sure if I should/want to even put in an order, as I already have them. But then again, if everone thinks like this, they might totally flop. On the other hand, even if I order them, they still might flop because a lot of other collectors may not order them as they have them as well. Result: the line gets cancelled again, and instead of having new characters, I have everyone I already have twice.

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Super7 has a serious optics issue.

Are these Ultimates a good idea? Sure. But it's been literally three years since we've gotten ThunderCats figures. They had to know that the die-hard fans already own these figures and were hoping to see something NEW (besides accessories, that is).

The smart move would have been, as theborster said above, to announce wave of four new figures with two re-releases, giving collectors the option of buying all six or just the four new ones.

As it is, they got our hopes WAY up only to reveal a set of re-releases. Sorry, Super7, but no amount of pack-in accessories makes that exciting to the die-hard fans who already own the Mattel versions.

And in the end, I'm kicking myself. Super7 has disappointed me so much in the recent past (throwing Kittrina into Club Grayskull, announcing a Classics wave of nothing but movie figures that includes 2 Skeletors and a repainted Karg), that I should have seen this coming.

Agreed - they would have been smart to start with a Mumm-ra and Lion-o then 2 new figures - this is going to give them a bad indication of the want for this line. I have multiple He-mans and Skeletors and I was more tempted to get those ultimates then these.

I’m absolutely with you!!! I think these ultimates should be put up for sale at the same time that a wave of NEW figures is solicited as well. I know that would be a huge chunk of change if someone wanted to order them all, but I have no faith that it’s going to go farther than this without seeing new stuff and knowing it’s coming soon. This is exactly what happened with Mattel. What happened to all the reports of seeing Tygra, Slithe, etc? And if people did see those at SDCC, are they really like 2 years away?? Love my Thundercats, but so, so bummed that I waited around all day for this announcement. Super7, please show me Cheetara and Tygra right now, and all will be forgiven!

Happy to see that the line is officially continuing, may pick up Lion-O to show some support, depends on the packaging. Of course I would have loved to see some new figures today but assume those will be coming eventually. Overall good news.

This is crazy... why rerelease all 4 of these at once with no new characters shown???

Maybe they are saving new ones for Power Con.

I already have the Mattel versions, which if Super7’s track record holds true, the Mattel figs will be of much higher quality. Shiny, cheap feeling releases with some bonus accessories are kind of a kick in the junk when anticipating Cheetara and Tygra.

    Were the MOTU Ultimates $45?

Is this it? Re-issues of the Mattel figures?

What a disappointment! They should have only reissued Lion-O for the time being and announced new stuff.

Though I guess they could be waiting for Power-Con to reveal the new figures?
Most wanted Filmation style MOTUC figures:

Hunga the Harpy, Webstor, Kobra Khan, Leech, Whiplash, Rattlor, Catra Cat Form, Ram Man, Count Marzo, Two-Bad, King Miro, Twiggets, Frosta, Kothos and Admiral Scurvy.

I added all four to cart to see what the shipping would be, $17.55 Shipping for all 4 Thundercats ultimates isn't bad. I'll be getting these next week when I get paid. Since Mumm-Ra is coming with a soft goods cloak I'm thinking Jaga and Mumm-Ra the Ever Living will most likely get soft goods capes too.

Also The rise in cost is going to be due To trumps 10% tariff on china starting September 1st. The tariff hits us not china. When the toys hit the us port the Super7 gets hit with the surcharge and it gets passed on to us.

If you hover over the Mumm-Ra image, you can see that he comes with a plastic cape, too. So maybe Jaga and others with capes will also come with both options.\

Edit to add: Maybe you noticed both capes and you weren't saying he only comes with a soft goods cape. Just thought I'd point it out in case you (or others) missed it.

Wow. So disappointed. I can’t even with this decision right now.

We all already have these. How can they possibly judge future demand from this wave? I guess we’re all supposed to pony up for the reissues otherwise there won’t be new waves. Almost a slap in the face.

Really hope that's what they are doing.

Otherwise, if that's it for the time being, this line might (again) be over before it really started.

And no, I don't want to be negative. They are beautiful figures after all. Thank you Super7 for making them, but please, show us some new figures as well.

Definitely took the wind out of my sails, but I'm still excited if this is what it takes to restart this line. I'm onboard for all 4 just to get all the new stuff. That said, I seriously hope they either show us new stuff at PC, or tell us what is coming in the next wave and show they have a plan in place. 6 months waiting on figures I already have is not going to be fun, and then a (likely) year from now to get actual new figures is definitely a buzzkill.

The re-issue of Jackalman at $45 is a doozy. Mattel had to clearance that figure out when they were closing their "vault" - he was available for like $17. You can still find him at some Gamestop stores. I can't imagine anyone interested doesn't already have him. There IS a new head but I'm not sure it's $45 worth for me.

I had been pondering getting another Panthro to customize into Lynx-O, but was hoping I could put those plans on hold if Super 7 might get to him. The new head for Panthro might get me to lean in that direction. I like the multiple claw shield offering.

But really this is a bit of a buzz kill. How hard would it be to have at least shown Jaga and Grune? Those were already done forever ago... show those with a list of Wave 1 of new Thundercats Classics and then also announce the Ultimates.

Hmmm. That was definitely anti-climactic if that was the extent of the Thundercats news.

And Arguably Pumyra is the one in need of a redo the most (she's WAY too tall) is the only left out of the Ultimates offering.

I can’t imagine that Brian and the people at Super7, and for that matter the horsemen, would be this out of touch with what the people who actually collect these things would be looking for. To dangle a big announcement of items most of the proposed customer base already have, without there being more to present makes no sense, there has to be more to announce. Even the people posting in this forum about our minds being blown by this announcement cannot be this out of touch. There has to be more, and it cannot wait til power con. Most of us have thousands of dollars in pre-ordered product out with this company, there is no way they can expect another pre-order without much bigger news very soon.

So now i’m stuck with inferior versions.

It would be super cool if S7 released a pack of all the additional accessories minus the parts Mattel gave us, for $40 or whatever, so those of us who bought them first time round can have them too.
Yeah, I am not pleased that the people who purchased these figures the first time and kept them will now have inferior versions. It is effectively punishing the collectors who supported the line from the beginning, and maintained that support by keeping their collections. Now, to be on the same footing with new collectors or people who sold their collections, they have to purchase duplicates. And since the original versions have fewer accessories, they are less valuable on the secondary market to people who can simply buy the more robust versions online. I fully expected them to reissue the original figures, but I thought they would have simply changed the packaging, so as to maintain the value of the originals, and not alienate the collectors who still had them.

I just hope that people new to the line + people who sold off and want back in + core customers actually willing to rebuy = enough sales to continue the line.

There’s nothing here for me. I’m out till wave 2.

And how many other potential customers out there are just like me? Far too many. Like, practically their entire core customer base for this line may sit out for wave 1. And the kicker is, they had to rebuild and retool these figures from scratch. There’s no way they had anything from Mattel to reuse. At that point give us Jaga or anybody new!?! And then they could judge future demand slightly better.

Uhhh....what?!?!?! WOW!! I have to say that I'm shocked. MAJOR issues right off the bat....

#1---It's a good thing that Power-Con is right around the corner because there are some serious concerns that need to be addressed. Is it GUARANTEED that a slew of other figures are coming? Or is that dependent on "other" things like sales of this wave because if that's the case the line could already be in jeopardy.

Can you imagine people buying these up again, only to have the line stall and die AGAIN right after it's release? This is why PROPER character selection was crucial to jump start things. I'll get to that more later....

#2--The price. $45 is a HEFTY amount. I understand the tariff issue and such, but while you need to raise prices because of it, buyers also need to become more choosy. It's a lose lose for both sides unfortunately and that certainly won't help sales. He-Man will be in the same boat if more figures are slated. GOOD LUCK seeing those obscure characters more so now then ever at this price point.

#3--Character selection. Did we REALLY need to have ALL four figures be re-issues right off the bat? I'm sorry, but that's a TERRIBLE marketing move. For starters, so many people already have them. Now while they certainly "look" great and come with all sorts of new cool accessories, the actual quality is still in question until people get them and people know that. That seed has unfortunately already been planted until it's corrected.

Back to the price point comment. How many people are actually gonna spill another $45.00 a pop for something that they already basically have? I guess that remains to be seen.

Lion-O should of been the ONLY character in Wave one and you could sprinkle the rest in accordingly DOWN the road if need be.

For those of you going to PC, be sure to address the concerns.

Yeah but BBTS has the preorder listed as arriving 4th quarter of 2019 when super7's preorder page clearly states these will be available spring of 2020

Pixel Dan stated Super7 was starting over. Not Everyone bought the figures from Mattel and some Sold their figures off when Mattel didn't continue the line. These Ultimates come with items the Mattel figures never had and they have second heads. Super7 has four waves of figures in the works and Brian did tell me the first wave was going to be 4 figures. I understand the Disapointment if you already own the Mattel figures but if we want the core teams completed we need to support the line.
So Glad Super7 has the Thundercats Lic. Looking forward to all they have to offer.
