Is it a July drop or a July cover date? They’re not the same. A July cover date could be in shelves as early as Free Comic Book Day

When's Free Comic Book Day? Either way, Revelation is confirmed to be coming out in the summer, and Kevin Smith said the marketing push would begin soon. So this prequel series is either coming out at the same time, or just before. Maybe May or June.

Here here! Just show us a single still! At least that would be something.

Netflix is notorious at being quiet about things until close to release. They just announced a teaser for Castlevania season 4 and it comes out next month. I expect that we'll see images for MOTU Revelation one month before it's released.

    It's a July drop date. July 7th I believe.

Who cares who's publishing it? I just want July to be here already! I feel like this summer is going to have echoes of the summer of 2002 when the MYP and relaunch toys all came out... exciting times ahead.

The fact that Evil-Lyn does not look like Modred the Mystic is a relief!

    RIGHT?!
When I saw her on the cover of the comic, my first thought was "an action figure based on this look, please".
I wonder how much of a time jump it's going to be between the events of the comic book and the first episode of the cartoon?

Yeah. But lest we forget, we're in the era where "Different" is Great simply because it's "different". So we have a lot of pointless changes crammed down our throats for no reason and if you say "I liked it better This Way" you're just an old fogey yelling at clouds.

Well at least they look pretty close to the 80's Filmation version. Doesn't look like any complete makeovers so far.

Is this a perfect rendering of what the characters will look like in the cartoon?

Or is this kind of like the 80s, where all the different MOTU comics (DC comics, STAR comic, all the mini-comics, etc) never drew the characters the same as they appeared in the Filmation series?

    I guess I care.

I like the way Dark Horse handles their licenses... and after that Masters of the Multiverse mess, I would be more than happy if DH took the reigns.

I'm not sure... but, I'm not diggin' Teela's outfit.

But, I do like that they have the BA He-Man logo on his harness.

I'm right there with ya. Dark Horse handled Star Wars extremely well right up until the end.

That's funny; on another board earlier I was talking with some other people about how much we all liked "Masters of the Multiverse".

I think that "'Space' He-Man... You're Ridiculous." is gonna be my next tattoo.

It’s on the cover of the next Previews catalog from Diamond for July shipping product. July 7, to be precise. EA76A0C3-B0D9-4DCE-9F8B-FE8D4CFD2242.jpeg

Kevin Smith's a better comic writer than he is a film writer, so it may work out well.

This is coming out through Dark Horse because "Revelation" is a Netflix production. Netflix has a contract with Dark Horse for their comic spinoffs.
Most wanted Origins figures: Mighty Spector, Fisto's Cousin's Babysitter, and Mer-Man's Seventh Grade Crush.

    Ah, that makes sense.

I was surprised when I saw that DC wasn't publishing this... now I know why.

Do we ever find out what the chest symbol means in the motu world? Maybe the new change will be explained in the show.

Well. The modern DC Comics storyline (2012-2016) tackled it. Where He-Man had a Golden ”H” symbol reminiscent of the vintage Battle Armor symbol.

There it was the symbol of Starseed/Life-Force/Goddess. It could be viewed in different ways. Depending who worshipped to the one and same deity.

    - Humans saw the Zoar (bird) side. The ”H”-symbol was the emblem of Zoar.
    - Snake Men saw a Snake side representing Serpos. Aka Snake emblem.
    - And Evil Horde saw a Bat, symbolizing Horokoth. Aka Bat emblem.

Those comics had Mattel’s Rob David handling the overarching story. He is also part of the Netflix series.

So who knows... Can’t say for sure they’ll even address the symbol on He-Man. But it could show up in some episode. OR it might be tackled in some way with the Prequel Comic miniseries.
