Hah hah, well that would imply that "they" haven't been on the internet even once since "nerd culture" and "pop culture" became synonymous several years ago. If people weren't blowing their collective stack over things of nearly zero consequence there wouldn't even be any "conversation" about these things at all.

What astounds me the most is, some people still think they want a MOTU movie. After ALL THIS, they still think they want that movie to happen, and for some reason, they don't realize that it's only going to cause even MORE of a fracture in the audience and hasten the brand's ultimate perma-death. Why they think it would go over any better than Revelation did is a complete mystery to me. It'd be the exact same thing, but way worse, because people take movies a lot more seriously than cartoons. And no matter what that movie turns out to be, you're going to see All This play out AGAIN, only louder.

Sigh. Nobody learns. Nobody ever learns anything.

Oh yeah definitely. I would expect a movie to make its own canon, picking various parts from the myriad of MOTU canons available. Would that be enough to satisfy the majority of MOTU fans? Could be difficult.

This is why I'm not sure I want a MOTU movie. MOTUR turned out to be my MOTU. The movie might not. It could end up capturing everything that makes MOTU special for me, or it may deliver something I wouldn't even recognize. Like when I watched the Dolph Lundgren movie as a kid, thinking "how is this even He-Man?".

I'm not sure how I feel about a Movie now tbh, Revelation reaction kind of took that excitement away for me, I don't think the fans would like it, we all want different things.

Personally I think the new movie will follow the He-Man & the MOTU structure. So we will probably get a younger Duncan, a "diverse" Teela, A younger Adam/He-Man etc.

I think I would prefer a live action series like The Witcher.
MOTU Origins Wishlist: Oo-Larr, Karg, Lady Slither, Fang-Or, Goat-Man, Movie He-Man & Skeletor, Hawke, Slamurai, Shadow Weaver, Lodar, Snake Face, Geldor, Lord Gr'Asp, Strobo

If i was going cast a He-man movie, i would cast Liam Hemsworth as Adam and Chris Hemsworth as He-Man. Frankly im kinda wary of a Live Action He-man Movie/TV Show. They got lucky casting ripped Swedish chemist Dolph Lundgren in the 80's. But all ripped Dudes today are all making Super-Hero movies now. If they just cast another skinny dude again as He-man. As they were going do with Noah Centineo. Well there your outrage right there. And im not sure how much of a budget a Netflix Movie going to have. If people are upset that this cartoon doesn't solely focus on Adam/He-man. Just think of the outrage of any changes in a Movie will make.

You're sure to love it, even though it doesn't exist yet, and you know nothing about it. So you either have extremely low standards, or none at all.

Why drag him down for being enthusiastic ? It's better than hating the movie and deeming it a failure before it's even been released like a lot of people did with revelation . Nothing wrong with a bit of positivity

I'd like a movie, but I'd worry the first would be all set-up. Hell, look Revelation even ends with a sequel hook, and what good is that if there's no potential pay-off because of underperformance?

It's usually timing, interest, and luck that helps some franchise movies get away with that.

Steering back to the topic a little, I don't know how much potential interest there is in the Hoard coming into more new MOTU when we've already seen them in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, so there would not be much nostalgia...not unless there's the type of fan who didn't like SPOP and wants the Hoard done 'accurately'...but what would that really entail? A Hordak much like the Filmation version surrounded by bunglers, who can morph into a ridiculous rocket cone head? I'd love that, but Revelations has a fanbase that is somewhat ashamed of their roots and might not want such things just to feel more 'validated' in continuing to watch what really isn't any less cheesier than Filmation once you strip away the 'edge'

That isn't enthusiasm, it's blind faith.

False dichotomy. Keeping an open mind means being open to any possibility.

Yeah, I hear ya. I would feel a little better about it if our fan community conducted themselves with a little more maturity, you know, holding onto their childhood versus acting like they never left it. I just don't feel like dealing with more rounds of fans screaming about haircuts, or such-and-such killed my childhood.

Agreed. Haven't we dragged down each other enough? I think so.

Ironically, yes. Kevin himself talked about this. Netflix doesn't care if you're hate-watching, as long as you're bringing in views.

Well I'm sure that's part of it, if not cracking the overall worldwide top-10 the second time around is a true indicator, but I'm also certain its lack of promotion and subsequent lack of awareness during a holiday travel week was also a contributing factor.

Alas, we'll find out from Netflix soon enough. The fact that Kevin Smith and company don't know yet is a good sign to some degree. The fact that it wasn't canceled fast like Cowboy Bebop says something about its general health and profitability.

Didn't hit the Netflix top ten, unlike Part 1 which did.

I'd prefer a Hordak more like the brief glimpse we had in 200x or what we saw in the DC Comics.

Netflix pays attention to views ,not the top ten . Now with the current hours viewed metric ,it's almost impossible that a 2 hours part competing with 9 hours shows made the top ten .
Stop treating Revelation as a live action show, it's just a 2d animated show performing as a 2d animated show.

No need to be rude. I have a great many standards, I just prefer being positive and hopeful rather than negative.

This... So much this . Simply stated yet still throws the jab to the nose at what we just got for the Horde representation..

So it's based on time watched? So a season of 2 and a half hour s has to compete with shows that are 10 times longer Essentially. Or in some cases. That seems a little sideways to me. But whatever I knew coming I that I wasn't promised more.

Expressing certainty about an outcome of a future event is neither being positive nor hopeful, it's being per-judgmental. Optimistic prejudgment can, and often is just as damaging as the opposite.
