The Grayskull Garrison (also The King’s Own/Queen’s Own) is a mounted infantry company traditionally made up of the 135 best members of the 1st, 5th, and 7th Divisions of the Eternian Army. The Garrison was first formed by command of King D’Vann Grayskull in 2490, not long after his rise to the Eternian throne, and commanded by the mysterious Sr Laser-Lot.

The original Grayskull Garrison earned its fame during the War for Eternia, specifically during the Battle for Talok City, when the 1st Platoon (Grayskull’s Masters) led the charge to retake the city from a brigade of Horde soldiers. The attack had been a diversion, however; while King Grayskull was kept away, several regiments of King Hsss’s Snake Men attempted to lay siege to Castle Grayskull. The daring attack on Talok City, coupled with the successful defense of the King’s fortress by the 2nd and 3rd Platoons, earned the Garrison the Silver Axe.

Sadly, their King passed when he used his great power to banish Hordak from Eternia. After King Grayskull’s funeral, the company remained at Castle Grayskull until the seat of government removed to the city of Eternos. The Garrison’s name and colors were changed at that time to the Eternian Royal Guard.

The Garrison would cease to exist until the year 3002, when the newly crowned King Adam I - known as King He-Man to his subjects - revived the company. Under the patronage of Duncan, the Man-At-Arms, and directly commanded by Raenius, the Clamp Champ, the Grayskull Garrison protected their King and Queen, and the Royal Prince Dare, for twenty peaceful years until finally the Forces of Evil struck again. As their King departed on a perilous journey to the past, the Garrison stood firm behind their Queen and fought a bitter war against the Evil Alliance. Their skill and bravery earned them the coveted King’s Cross in 3027 as they fought in the vanguard of the armies of Good in the Second Ultimate Battleground....*
