At the risk of sounding sexist, which I certainly am not, imo Prince appeals more to women and Springsteen appeals more to men. Not that there's anything wrong with that, any more than knitting appealing more to women and MMA appealing more to men, although there's some crossover from both sides.

To be honest? I respect the boss on his songwriting, lyrics, and the content he's presenting but Prince for me was... I considered him as diamond in the rough, ever changing chameleon fusing Funk, Hard Rock, and Pop into one career. Purple Rain album have everything. and I also floored that he did an interesting interpolation of Beatles/George Harrison's While my Guitar Gently Weep, Great solo though. For me my Men's men music is Tom Petty or REO speedwagon.
