Fwoosh review of the Mirage Casey is up and I am not as excited about it as I was. It's okay but the proportions on it look a bit strange.

I think he's close to perfect. And seeing the comparison, now I'm really glad I wasn't able to find a cartoon version. I was totally wrong - he wouldn't have matched the line at all.

The lower legs look a bit too long. Maybe it's the cuff above the boot that making it look more like that.
The unmasked face sculpt also isn't great.
I prefer the shape of the cartoon figure.

That might be because the cartoon version has stumpy legs.

Ideal proportions have the crotch/base of the pelvis as half the length of the body.

Mirage Casey is dead on 50/50. Cartoon Casey's lower half is 15% shorter than his upper half.

And I'll probably display him unmasked like the screen grab I took. They nailed the Eastman/Laird likeness.

I really love both versions of Casey! And, they got the two most important aspects right: his lower abs always are on display, and he wears drawstring sweat pants!

I think that they could be interchangeable in either display, but that Mirage mask is SO iconic...

I stopped by my out-of-the-way Target today, and holy smokes! they are LOADED with Neca TMNT!

They have everything from the Universal Monsters x TMNT (including the New April) to the Rock Soldier Infantry and Crooked Ninja Turtle Goon 2-Pack.

They still had a bunch of Catwoman from Channel 6 multi-packs too.

I grabbed a Usagi Yojimbo and, I gotta say, this is one great figure! The sculpt, the paint apps, even the articulation... it all works so well!

His accessories are awesome too! I love the way he looks while wearing his kasa!

Nice job, Neca... Usagi is another winner!!

I hope they rerelease toon Casey and April. I never saw either of them when they came out. Hopefully they can shrink April's head a little.

There was much talk about a Neca Ultimate April O'Neil before SDCC... but sadly, nothing turned up.

I would love to trade in my April for a more show-accurate version as well.

I was able to pick up Rhazar and Tokka online from Target and Wingnut and Screwloose from BBTS.

These figures are really good, but not without some minor nitpicks and criticisms.

For all the justified criticism and despite the Super 7 Derangement Syndrome a some people seem to have, the Neca TMNT figures have quite a few of the same issues while still being pretty great toys.

Tokka, Rhazar, and Wingnut all have issues with their hands easily falling out with posing. I actually found it annoying with Rhazar.

Tokka and Screwloose have painted joints so with movement the paint flakes off.

Thankfully the base plastic is a similar color so it doesn't bother me, but that's ridiculous. Neca animated Baxter had that issue and I bought him in 2020?

The articulation is also somewhat limited on Tokka and Rhazar.

There's constant whining about the lack of articulation on Super 7 figures - specifically the lack of double jointed elbows, knees, and torso articulation - and while I would like more I can't deny that the aesthetic is great on the Super 7.

I'm bringing that up because despite having superior articulation it was actually quite limited in Tokka, Rhazar, and Wingnut.

The double jointed knees and elbows were limited on Tokka and Rhazar, and I was afraid to work Wingnut's elbows too much for fear of snapping them.

Tokka's ab crunch was completely useless.

The leg attatchment is visually horrible from certain poses and angles, but they do feel sturdy.

Flaking paint on the joints, limited articulation despite having the joints, and issues with the hands easily falling out of the sockets on Rhazar specifically.

I have some wonky paint on Wingnut's left fang.

Screwloose's arms feel a little weird to articulate and pose due to where they're attatched. They function fine, they just look odd to me.

Those are the negatives, now for the positives.

Rhazar, Tokka, and Wingnut are very chunky figures. I love it

Wingnut has great wing and torso articulation.

Tokka and Rhazar having articulated jaws adds a lot of personality.

I love the food items Tokka and Rhazar come with. The comics that Wingnut and Screwloose come with can easily be used between the Neca and S7 figures.

Of the four figures Tokka is easily my favorite. The paint and animated shading really make him stand out to me.

Neca's upcoming Archie Slash reuses almost this entire figure I think. That's a good thing.

I would go so far as to say Tokka is one of my favorite TMNT figures ever - Playmates, S7, Neca, etc.

Rhazar is awesome and Wingnut is great. The animated looks really push my nostalgia buttons.

If you see these guys pick them up.

Just got a shipping notification from Loot Crate that something from TMNT Series II is on the way. Fingers crossed that it's both Dark Turtle Donnie and Scrag and that I can almost be done with Loot Crate forever! Wonder when they'll ship the Armaggon. Hope that others that also ordered 1.5 years ago are getting their figs!

Renet is here. Other than the color being off, she's pretty great.

Looks like there's news on how to get blue Renet.

As a toy collector, do you ever get the feeling that they're just screwing with us? Or maybe I've died and these ever more ridiculous hoops I have to jump through to buy the toys I want are just me descending into deeper circles of Hell.

Seems like a weird system, but I'll check it out to see what she sells for.

Glad I don't like the B&W versions. They just look sloppy.

    Yep, I saw this too...

It was one of the announcements for Neca's "31 Nights of Frights".

28 more nights of reveals / announcements! I wonder what else they will end up showing?

    Good call!

I still think that it was a huge missed opportunity to make Casey Van Helsing though...

I would have turned Splinter into the Wolfman.

Yes Casey would have been a lot cooler as Van Helsing.

Slpinter would have ben better as Wolfman.
Actually I was reading the late 90s Image TMNT comics and in that Splinter got mutated into a large bat. Something like that would have been a lot more interesting.

Also should make some Image TMNT figures.

As best I can tell, the imaginary flaming hoop you have to jump through to get a Blue Renet already went on sale and sold out today. Cool.
