Amazon UK also has Prince Adam and the Sky Sled on there now. That's listed for the 7th September.

Hoping US Amazon gets these up soon, too. I hate the idea of having to spend my money at Wal-Mart to get the first releases in this line.

They're available for pre-order right now on Amazon.co.uk...

He-Man, for example, is GBP 13.24 and releases August 24, 2020 according to Amazon.

Some of the listings specifically state that they will not ship to the U.S.

Okay, I'm hyped for these. They look great. The stupid handle they had on the Toy Fair Power Sword is gone.

Also, why does Adam have a Man at Arms mace? Is that a mistake or are they throwing us a bone by giving us one made of a harder plastic?

Are you asking if the vintage figures could? They can't. They only move at the shoulders, head, and hips.

Other toys from the time did have more articulation, albeit poorly integrated (GI Joes had the metal pin system and the O ring, which both looked bad and didn't articulate well). Most vintage figures with knee and elbow joints were either the Joe style with the metal pins or fully plastic, which wore out very easily (I tried collecting Dapol Doctor Who figures once, I couldn't get them to stand at all).

I actually liked the knuckle bow as it is was a throwback to the vintage He-Man sword. I didn't mind its absence from MOTUC, but I thought it was appropriate for Origins since these figures harken back to the vintage figures.

From the perspective of a new fan (I got into MOTU because of the Injustice comic, so like 2018 I think), Classics is really huge and daunting. The core characters go for ungodly amounts of money, as do fan favorites. He-Man, Teela, Man-At-Arms, Skeletor, Beast Man, and Evil Lyn (the essential core roster) alone will set you back five to six hundred dollars. Also, collectors would most likely be upset if all we get are reissues (because lets face it, big titty robot from Polish comic books wouldn't move at retail). So like, imo, starting over is the best course of action.

Also, we have tons of new fans who were introduced by recent comics, the She-Ra reboot, and we'll have even more newcomers because of the shows and movie.

How many versions of G.I. Joe are there? Or Transformers? If you got everything you wanted in classics, every character ever hinted at in media, then what?

This is what every line does. That said, I hope classics can continue in whatever capacity it can.

Absolutely. I donít have my vintage figures any longer, so this is a perfect opportunity.

As do a lot of others too. But, this is the direction that Mattel chose to go, and a lot of people are excited about it.

You have to look at this situation from a financial perspective.

Mattel saw that MOTU has the potential to be a huge money-maker in 2020, what with the new streaming series and a movie in the works... the MOTUC river was running at a trickle as far as mass-marketable appeal... only the hardcore were still hanging on.

The Origins line is cheaper to produce, will be sold in stores as well as online, has a rich history for old fans and new media for the new fans. It was time for a change/reboot seeing as how MOTUC had been running strong since 2008!!

I am incredibly excited to get my hands on these figures! I honestly feel like I did back in 1984!!

But, I still think that Mattel should have let Super 7 continue to produce the MOTUC line. It would not have impacted Origin sales at all.

Do you say this to fans of Superman, Batman, Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers, TMNT etc? It's the same for those properties, they have a constant refresh of all their characters in multiple lines, a refresh is needed all the time if something is to survive. MOTU more so than the ones I've mentioned.

I'm sure Mattel will continue MOTUC or that style (high end collectibles for adults) later on.

I believe the WWE figure prelim photos had the same minicomics, so I think this might just be a placeholder.

I can't remember where I read it now, but there will be one minicomic per wave, and each figure in that wave will have the same one. They'll be more substantial than the MOTWWEU minis, though. I think it might have been part of the Toyfair coverage, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Mattel said at Power Con that each wave would contain the same mini comic. New assortment, new comic.
