Yeah... Austin Powers reference on a He-Man forum in 2020, didn't see that comin' did ya?

Anyway hi, I'm Russ, I grew up on He-Man and She-Ra and I have a lot of fondness for these characters.

I do collect the toys. I ruined a lot of my 80's toys from playing in the yard with them, but I sure had fun. My favorite toy line is the 200x line, because of the more detailed sculpting. I'm a sculptor myself and I love the artistry that went into those. The crown jewel of my collection, though, is a perfect mint-on-card She-Ra from 1984, for which I paid a crazy sum on eBay a while ago. I'm usually an open-it-up-and-play-with-it guy, but I couldn't pass that up.

Favorite character, as you might guess, is She-Ra! I always thought her show was clearly better, even if the other boys at school didn't get it. I liked how she could get creative and turn her sword into different things. I liked that her team of rebels were underdog heroes, and I thought Hordak was a much more threatening villain than Skeletor. She-Ra and Swift Wind were my favorite childhood toys. I'm loving the new Netflix series!

I have casually browsed this site for many years just to keep up with news and such. Glad to be a part of it. I did not realize my gmail address would be such a liability here, but ehh, makes sense. I'm sure I'll eventually throw a donation your way to make up for it.

It's true in relation to Hordak vs Skeletor... Hordak when he lost, didn't always come across... a little bumbling, like Skeletor did.
I do think however, Skeletor had far cooler minions than Hordak.
And while I agree, She-Ra herself was creative; I do think, yes, her crew were a bit of the underdogs, but I also felt they were a bit more... unusual, in regards to personality.
I couldn't get behind most of them; where as in He-Man, Statos, Ram Man, Man At Arms, I could all associate with.

But that's what makes being here cool - so many people, so many different views - and so many with the same views!
