    Vintage Castle Grayskull repaint

    Hello after a long time.
I did a vintage Castle Grayskull for commission. Works were done mostly with airbrush and vallejo air colours, besides so0me drybrushing and tinting on the copper roof.

    That looks lovely! Great work!
Of course there are more important things than toys, cartoons, movies, comics, and so forth. That's obviously true. I assume this is an understanding shared by everyone here, and that therefore my participation in a discussion thread is not interpreted as a sign that I am lacking in the aforementioned understanding. Thank you for observing that courtesy.

Thank you. It is my first job with an airbrush-gun.
The customer wanted the castle in the image of the early commercials, in which the castle looked very well painted.
Besides the copper shingled roofs, of course.

Yes, really first time. Thank you. But I was anxious at first, too; tried to do the whole castle in brush, but the customer wanted the fine transitions you easier get with airbrush. So I had no choice.
The thing is, I have a partially painted another Grayskull (my only own) for me with brush and have to says, that sometimes brush is better, for if you have drybrushed the highlights of the skull, the more dusty and friable look you can get. As if the stone is really old and mossy.
But don't be afraid to use your airbrush, besides a small amount of work due to cleaning after each colour, you get a lot of possibilites additionally to your brushing repertoire. And it really works side by side.

Here is a detail of the mossy drybrush of my own, not yet finished, castle.

    Best wishes
