She-Ra and the Princesses of Power Toy Reviews

I've noticed that there aren't a ton of reviews of the new She-Ra toys from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, so I thought I'd fix that!

I'm going to be reviewing all of the She-Ra doll sets from Mattel over the next few weeks, so check them out if you're interested. If you have reviews of them post them here, too!

First up: Battle Armor She-Ra and Swift Wind: http://www.actionfigurebarbecue.com/2019/08/action-figure-review-battle-armor-she.html

    Next up: She-Ra http://www.actionfigurebarbecue.com/2019/08/action-figure-review-she-ra-from-she-ra.html

And one of the BFFS: Bow http://www.actionfigurebarbecue.com/2019/09/action-figure-review-bow-from-she-ra.html

    She-Ra's Number #1 Frenemy: Catra https://www.actionfigurebarbecue.com...om-she-ra.html

    Force Captain Adora: http://www.actionfigurebarbecue.com/2019/09/action-figure-review-force-captain.html

Last up for series 1, Glimmer: http://www.actionfigurebarbecue.com/2019/09/action-figure-review-glimmer-from-she.html

Yeah, I'm not seeing a ton of attention for these. I just checked out Bow and I'm getting ready to hit a few more of these over the next week. Kind of bummed to hear Entertainment Earth cancelling orders of the Angella/ Glimmer set. I was hoping we'd be hearing about more character soon!

I really enjoyed reading these Barbeque17! Any clue if anyone is doing any video reviews of these? They look pretty neat, not that I'm in to collecting this sort of stuff. But these make for a great birthday present for my nieces, they're right about to get to that age where they'd appreciate these! I've been buying them those Star Wars dolls the past two years, but these would be pretty cool too and maybe it'd get them to watch the show on Netflix!

Are these permanently exclusive to Target in the US? Or is that just a "first dibs" sort of thing? We don't have Target over here in Belgium so I'm curious how that works for international distribution, I've checked Amazon but they're not popping up ther eyet (they are on the US Amazon but for triple the retail price).

SI'm not really sure. I would I think these are a timed Target exclusive, meaning that Target gets them first before other stores (I believe the earliest press releases said these would "launch" at Target) but I haven't seen anything beyond that that I can recall. I imagine if things go well, we'll see the line expand to other stores next year. That's how the DC Superhero Girls line started.

Hopefully that’s the case, they’re undoubtedly missing out on countless potential customers by not having these more widely available. Honestly, they should only give stores an exclusive variation rather than the exclusives rights to an entire line.

I imagine not being in Walmart and K-mart is pretty big. Not to mention Amazon! I buy almost everything on Amazon these days, I rarely ever go in to a physical store anymore (not counting the supermarket of course). So not having these on Amazon... man, that just feels like such a dumb business move in today’s day and age.

Catra is up, Force Captain Adora, and Glimmer are now all up!

Edit: Also I just added the SDCC 2019 She-Ra vs Shadow Weaver set.

Great overview of these dolls, it's unfortunate that they didn't make anymore. Nice that you got them at retail and from what I have seen these are only rising in price.

The reason is the usual, demand, there was never any demand for the toys or other merch, most stores had to put them in the discount section weeks after they received them and even with that most stores took ages to sell them all and as you can guess, they didn't order any more.

Also don't be fooled by prices on places like eBay or anywhere, most listings have been up since the stuff came out and there's little to no sales movement on many of them, but as the already limited stock gets lower, they jack up the prices.
    Demand quality.

I recognize that I'm not the demographic intended for this toyline. However, if the reports of low sales are true, then maybe there are a few more that agree. I'm not digging the aesthetic (didn't dig it in the 80s either). I much prefer the Sorceress, Evil-Lyn and Teela figures.

I think it's the near-Barbie style that irks me. I know that they are Princesses of Power, but I wish the toys were more in keeping with the MOTU style.

Please note that this is entirely subjective and I do not begrudge anyone who does dig the line. In fact, power to you!
