This is a great help!
I do have a question, though...
Are there 2 different versions of Evil Lyn series 4?
The one I have is pale yellow, like the series 5 one but has the series 4 style.
I've seen images where her skintone was bright yellow. Was this a running change or an exclusive?
Thanks!
Cammor
Not my photo but these are the exact same I have
The first is from series 4, the second one is motu series 1 and the third is motu series 2
The first one is made after the original evil lyn fig with yellow tone skin, the 2nd is filmation style and 3rd is after her 200x incarnation
I haven’t seen any variants of these figs.
Motumatts reference here is a great resource

Gorgeous work!
Clean, crisp work as always - thank you!
I really hope the next few waves have more figures and fewer repainted re-issues. Must drive you nuts to have to inventory 5th versions of characters already!

The trickle of new characters has been painfully slow. We've got 38 figures released but only 17 unique characters. In other words, more than half of the figures they've put out have been just variants. He-Man #6 and Skeletor #6 are on the way, too! Tooling is expensive, I get it, but still...

Wow these are amazing thanks for the full detail illustration
Thought I'd give you a heads-up that I've got a completed, updated character comparison sheet up on the main post. Should help with putting toys away!
This thread is a life-saver and I can't thank you enough for all your hard work putting it together!
Let's talk Mega Construx!
Seeing this amazing work really drives home the vast amount of repaints we've gotten so far.
We've gotten 38 figures (not counting the cats) and 13% of them have been He-Man and 13% have been Skeletor - which means a whopping 26% (over a fourth!) of all the figures have been those two. I'm not saying i didn't want those versions, I bought and enjoy them all. But this situation is untenable as they can't release a He-Man and Skeletor with every wave as so many variants have already been used. Even the Skeletor heads coming next year are full of repaints - green Trap Jaw, blue vest Adam and another Fisto. At least the Battle Ram will have two new figures - Mekaneck and Tri-Klops.
I understand these choices were likely made to get approval for the line in the first place - repaints save Mattel money. But again, this can't continue at the same rate as there are only so many He-Man and Skeletor variants. What do we have left for He-Man - Thunder Punch, Flying Fists, New Adventures? Basically the same for Skeletor - Dragon Blaster, Terror Claws, New Adventures - but we will likely see Disco Skeletor if the line makes it that far.
Anyway, just some thoughts. I'm all in on this line no mater what. Hopefully we see waves of 5 all-new characters at some point or, at the very least, one repaint and 4 new characters.

I so love the work you're doing for these. Thanks. Some day, hopefully, it can be bundled into a PDF![]()
I completely agree as a hardcore collector of the line, there's a LOT of He-man & Skeletor. I have to imagine it's some requirement/demand of a higher up or someone holding the license. The average person's knowledge of He-Man doesn't extend beyond Skeletor afterall.
At the very least all the excess can make for fun customs, right? I was very pleasantly surprised to learn the Havoc staff's head can peg in to the neck of Skeletor. Looks just like the Eternia War Skeletor!

I'd like the see them, at least, keep to a 50% ratio of repaints vs new characters. Tooling expenses considered, this seems reasonable, I think. The next 5 sets do this (He-Man, Skeletor, Fisto vs Trap Jaw Mekaneck, Tri-Klops), so that's encouraging. Most of the repaints I'm okay with, as there's a decent reason for them to exist. I like having Vintage / Filmation / 200x Evil-Lyns, for example. Other then the terrible unflocked Moss Man (unflocked???), I think only He-Man is really suffering here so far. His repaints are barely, barely distinct from each other. I wish they'd branch out with him instead. Anti-Eternia He-Man would be an easy one that would make me happy. I would love Thunder Punch and Flying Fists to complete the Vintage set as well. Outside of that, maybe New Adventures and Movie. But more He-Men with different boot colors... ehhh....
That sounds reasonable. We certainly aren't getting the line without repaints so I at least hope they make sense and have some history behind them. No Desert Camo He-Man or Tidal Wave Skeletor just to give us rando repaints like the 200X line got clogged with.
Speaking of Trap Jaw, it is really weird to me that we are getting the mini-comic green version before the iconic blue toy version. Guess they are saving him for an individual card release? One can only hope!
One set I would love (and repaints would help make possible) is a Tuvar/Baddra/Two Bad 3-pack.
