I thought this as well. In the bottom panel on Page 2, Adam answers Teela's question before she's asked it... Similar issue in bottom panel on Page 3. And call me a grammar pedant, but really, "you're" instead of "your" in the second panel on Page 5???

Still, I really like that they are doing minicomics with this line at all - I have such fond memories of the original minicomics, and it's great that they're keeping up with that tradition. Just hopefully later minicomics get a little more proof reading!

I think the mini comics in origins will be just a detail or a homage ,just not as important as the originals.

Weren't the vintage minicomics like 2 (or more) times this length?
Yeah, vintage ones had more pages.
    This thing's a train wreck.
Brings doom to MOTUC with cel accuracy.

if there are just 6 pages ,they could have made different mini comics for each figures easily ...or actually they could have made something different .
Instead of a story ,put references or the backstory of the character there ,acompained with drawings.

I saw the cover art on intagram and it looks a bit different, more polished from the one posted by Jukka

I think you misread it or something. "You're" is correct here. "[You are] through, Skeletor!" as in "you are done" or "you are finished."

Yeah, even if they didn't do a unique comic with each figure, just having a detailed character bio for each character with art (6 characters, 6 pages) probably could have conveyed more meaningful information than this story did.

But then again, some people may rather have 6 pages of the characters in comic art even if nothing particularly meaningful is conveyed. I honestly don't know.

Sorry, different bit of the comic - I'm talking about Page 5 where He-Man says "You're days are numbered"...

Kind of reminds me of the little comic strips on the back of the Mighty Max packaging. The only difference is that these are a separate little comic. I don't actually have a problem with the size of it, its just more the fact that each figure comes with the same one. I don't know, and I know it’s probably an unfair word to use, but something about that just seems lazy. Also, if a kid were to like the comic, and then rush out and buy another figure (or two), I can imagine them getting very annoyed that each of them has the same comic. Just seems like a bit of a funny choice. If Mattel only wanted to do one comic per wave, which is fair enough, maybe they should have only come with one or two figures each wave?

I’m glad they’re bringing back the comics, but this thing is pretty anemic. Hopefully the first wave is a smashing success and Mattel is willing to invest a little more in future waves.

Meh. It's ok I guess. Unfortunately, not even minicomics are enticing enough to buy into this line.

WAIT! The origin figures come with a mini comic?

(begin sarcasm) Come on! If you are going to do that then at the very least say "spoiler aleart" (end sarcasm)

Hmmm. Looks like that has the face and hair illustrated differently.
    And title lettering is different.

Maybe that it is the final version? (The images Frank took were sent by Mattel for review purposes... I could see it being an earlier print version)

Personally I find packing the same mini comic with all the figures in Wave 1 a dumb idea. At least have two different ones.

Looking at the pics of the comic that popped up, it’s cheesy but it’s a MOTU mini comic!! Lots of toys in the 80s included mini comics but Masters was probably the most fondly remembered or even remembered at all. I’ve noticed a few things. Just like in the 80s there’s a little disconnect between toys and the media. From what I’ve noticed, obviously the sword handles. It could’ve been a last minute decision to change it but it’s not showing up in any of the art we’ve seen so far. We saw during the Powercon panel that rough layout page. I’m wondering if maybe Axel did the layouts and this other artist finished it. I notice Skeletor has the back belt straps too like a lot of the early mini comic and Axel’s SDCC comic. Or maybe he did model sheets for the characters for other artists to use. We’ll have a bunch of this comic til the next wave hits which should be MEF/Trap Jaw wave.

I think I also remember them mentioning the comics are supposed to feature all the characters from the wave which this does.
Gaping holes in my collection: Origins SDCC 2019 2 Pack, Weapons pack 1, Power & Honour book 1, SDCC artbook (maybe)

Ah, good call. I was looking at the wrong page, lol. My mistake.

You know what I think would be cool? If each figure in a wave came with a comic that completed one story. So maybe there’s a 6 page comic in each wave of 4, but to drive the “collect ‘em all” thing, they’re installments of one 20-page story.

As an adult collector, I really like that idea! With a wave of six, you could have a really cool 36 page story, or even 2 stories that are 18 pages each.

I don't know if it would be popular with kids though. Getting a toy and only part of a story may be frustrating. Even if a kid wants the whole wave/story, that doesn't mean their parents will get it for them.

On the subject of the two cover variations: I like the revised head and title lettering of the second cover, but I like the brighter colors of the first.

Does Adam live into castle Grayskull in this version?

some dialogues into the comic lends to think that

I think so. I imagine this is a way to put more emphasis on Castle Grayskull (making it essential for even more passive play) so it'll be more popular when they inevitably put one out.

Yeah, that’s too weird. It seems implied, but it’s not necessarily the case.

Well that would really harken back to something vintage minicomics did too. Like in Modulok minicomic. The heroes all just *are* at Grayskull, hanging around, having workshops to build a Robot... as if no Royal Palace even existed. Same with some story+tape books Adam has been shown sleeping at Grayskull like no big deal.

maybe King Randor sent Adam to Grayskull to protect him from Skeletor.
