What does everybody think to the wave 3 and deluxe wave mini-comics?

Here are some scans of all the mini comics.
I'm really hoping that someone can identify the easter eggs in the wave three mini. My Daughter already pointed out Netflix She-Ra's castle, and I noticed toy Snake Mountain and Castle Grayskull.
Okay that whole Skeletor "Myah!" thing has got to stop!

Super awesome - thanks for posting all that! These look like fun comics very much in the spirit of the vintage ones. Glad to see some of the '87 characters like Scare Glow and Clamp Champ getting established early in this line since they never got their due back in the day.
I've mostly been busy collecting CD's, DVD's and books lately and haven't bought any toys in ever so long, although they look awesome, but I love the looks of these New Mini-Comics and would love to get some. I hope one day they will be collected into a book like the Classic Mini-Comics.![]()

I mean they're ok for what they are and the amount of pages they had to work with... The lettering really needs some work! Quite a few lettering no-nos in every issue. (Also Stratos' head fins coloured blue on the last panel??? Who's QCing these?)

I have 3 different mini comics now...and no text in any of them!!!Like what is the point in that!!! Would it really have cost Mattel that much extra to put some simple black and white text in so we could actually read the story!

A big thanks to Smitty.81 for posting these comic scans!
Agreed. Not the worst lettering I've seen, but the font choice jumped out at me from the start. The other lettering rules... well, at least all the letter "I"s aren't the capital version with the crossbars.
Wouldn't it save more money and time just so send the English lettered versions everywhere? Many countries speak and read English. Why take the time and effort to turn off the English words and do another printing without them?
Maybe someone familiar with comic book printing like Val could help answer that? Maybe the images are printed at one time, and the lettering is then printed over it at a later time? That could explain why it might make more sense to send some out blank vs sending them all out in English. Beyond that possibility, I simply don't know.

I have published comics in the past. Printing is down all at once. Typesetting I think is more what you are asking about. The speech bubbles aren’t necessarily going to be the same size in multiple languages. And many counties may have laws on printing in their language, like part of Canada requires things to be in English and French. So it’s cheaper to just remove the words than make multiple versions so you don’t have to hire and pay a translator, a designer to adjust the bubbles and a printer to make multiple plates. All comes down to money.
This is exactly my point!!! Why go to the hassle of actually removing text just for the International version? Just leave the text in so we can all read the story. Most countries in the world in this day and age (due to the increasing Americanization of the world, don't worry I'm not veering into a political debate) have some grasp of English so just leave the comics as they are so we can read the story ffs!!!
I know that with Transformers, Hasbro has had to deal with regulations around multilingual packaging (and pack-in) text - there are apparently rules in certain regions that any text must be present in a number of different languages. So if they included dialogue in the international version, it would have to be repeated several times. Multiple translations would add a lot of expense to the production of the books, and make it difficult to find enough real estate on the page.
