Thanks guys but why does Mexico get Duplico before the USA does?

Well for one thing, MotU Origins has been selling horribly at US Wal-Marts.
2/3 in my city have removed all MotU lines from the planogram, while the third has pegs of Wave 7 that have been collecting dust since the 2021 holiday season.

Duplico is also not tied to down to being an exclusive to the worst retailer in Mexico. I’m close to just giving up and buying him on eBay. I don’t think this guy is ever gonna fully hit brick and mortar or be available online. Just one per select stores and that’s it.

I ended up just nabbing one on ebay the other week. I justified it as being the only thing MOTU-related I've had to pay above retail price for in several years. If it were like that for every tenth figure Mattel released, I'd not be so indulgent. But I also just don't want to have to step foot in Wal-Mart if I can avoid it, nevermind hopping around to several different ones just for this one figure.

I don't think "one per select stores" is possible. There are 10,500 stores in the world: I strongly doubt that Mattel deals with production runs of a few thousand, the way some mom and pop action figure business will. There must be at least 10,500 of him, we just don't know where the Wal-Mart version of Origins Wave 12 cases are going once they're boxed at the Chinese factory Mattel is using and paid for.

I was able to order a Duplico from Walmart at the time of posting this. It's from a reseller (see details below). I paid $69.99 dollars for Duplico. I only bought one as I still think this is expensive but wanted to secure one in case Mattel decides to stop producing this figure.

Found a Duplico at my local WalMart today. I was only in there picking up food for lunch at work later and stopped by the toy section just out of habit. It has been nothing but Leech and naked Stratos there for months.

But today, right on the front peg, was a lone Duplico and a mini-comic Roboto for good measure. Card was a bit beat up so maybe a return? Who knows. Was close to just caving and going online.

Hopefully he shows up soon in RoE numbers so everyone can get him. He is probably the most bland of the RotS figures (most of which I really like) but hey I am with Origins all the way!

Awesome find! A lot of you guys are lucky, I've now confirmed all 7 Wal-marts within a 50 mile radius of myself no longer carry MOTU Origin products. No hope at all.

:sigh: I checked my Wal-Mart and they had a few of the mini comic Robotos but no sign of Duplico. I fear they may have got him in and he was snatched up before I got there. I can't be sure.

I also fear those Robotos are going to end up peg warming alongside the Mini comic Stratos that are STILL there!
