Artwork looks better than the figures!

So did the original line’s artwork compared to the original figures. Or pretty much any artwork compared to figures. Nature of the beast.

All riiight, the Champ makes his first appearance in this line! Hopefully a figure won't be too far off. He became a part of my core MOTU group as soon as I got him back in the day, and has remained so ever since. He's as crucial to me as characters like Fisto and Ram Man.

It's also cool that Scareglow is menacing Adam and the Champ, the same pair he took on in the Search for Keldor minicomic!

Not trying to troll, but my appreciation of the origins artwork is the polar opposite of my appreciation of the origins figures.

as a fan of the multiple he-man throughout history thing that classics introduced, it makes me wonder if we will see some of them in the line. especially judging by the sdcc comic advising that he man was a legendary historic figure.

as for randor nothing (other than budget) says he cant come with old and young heads

My hope is that Mattel, after releasing the A-List cast, dives back into the early mini-comics for inspiration for unique Origins figures.

Like the Masks of Power Demons and the aforementioned "Old man Randor..."

Mattel usually sends me the design sheets or photos of the prototypes. As is often the case, there are changes in the process, sometimes while we are working on the art, or even afterwards. That makes it necessary to update our work. At this point we have several cases with different versions of art. And even the full art of an unrealized item!

I wonder whether the older depiction of Randor and Marlena means we won’t see the younger, figure-version in this line. (Maybe we’d get him with the white hair as seen in the minicomic that came with him!).

The younger Randor does appear on Ninjor's cardback. I imagine that the first figure we get of him will be based on the vintage toy, since that was a more "battle-ready" version of Randor.

The grey haired king and queen from the mini comics would make a nice exclusive, similar to the Lords of Power set.
