She-ra is looking pretty nice. Although that silver paint on the transparent plastic is going to really look rough after using the sword and shield even lightly in a year or so. ...especially the handle. I think painted gems would be the way to go with a metallic/shiny paint. ...if they didn't want to make separate pieces or glue little gems on the weapons.

Granted, that's just my personal preference.
Yes, that's definitely a bit more like it (maybe minus the Trap-Jaw boot portion).
Looking for any loose Classics figures? Let me know via PM what you might be looking for and I'll look through some boxes and see if we can help each other out!

I'll been wondering how to make a Classics Kol-darr out of the Origins head and armor. It didn't even occur to me to make a Masterverse Kol-darr. The Viking He-man buck works great for a Masterverse Kol-darr...
I had plans on making a kol dar in classics but didn't get the origins like I wanted. Hopefully he gets a general release so I can. He was one of my biggest wants for classics during the classics run. Not the filmation line.

Wow, those are some fantastic custom MV figures!

I didn't realize how well the Classics accessories worked on MV figures!

    Masterverse She-Ra First Impressions

My She-Ra finally came in; my first (and probably only) Masterverse figure.

I figured since I had the other two modern takes on She-Ra, I'd get this one to have a more play-friendly body to put my spare Classics head on.

Alas, the dumbbell joint at the neck is twice the size of the classics socket and even if I did grind the ball down to fit, the skin tone is completely different (Masterverse isn't anywhere near as tanned). However, not all is lost as the Masterverse heads actually look way better than the promotional photos made them appear and She-Ra doesn't look quite so shell-shocked as the images suggested.

I confess she's a lot larger than I expected her to be; she's virtually the same height as Classics She-Ra!

In terms of articulation, expect the abdominal crunch, thigh swivel and double jointed elbows and knees normally associated with Marvel Legends and unlike MotU Classics, MV's skirt actually gives enough room to stand with her feet apart and yet still looks like it hangs naturally. Her cloak is disappointingly diaphanous but seems sturdy enough and the plastic is good sturdy stuff (comparable to Origins figures).

While it's not a work of art by collectors standards like Classics, there's a lot less paintwork and the joints are much sturdier making Masterverse She-Ra a much better toy overall and by that criteria I would say I actually prefer Masterverse as a line over Classics. Mind ye I judge this based on whether I can consistently fiddle with a toy. I also generally prefer minimal paint applications as there's so many things that can go wrong, plus temperate climate paint seems to go a bit funky in tropical weather.

Classics may look fancier and Origins is a much more fun size, but Masterverse She-Ra definitely seems the most robust of all three.

My only real grouse is the strange way they went about painting her sword and shield, casting it in translucent blue plastic and then sloppily airbrushing the whole thing silver. They misaligned the masking on the gem of one side of the sword in the process and the coating of silver paint isn't consistent. It's not a dealbreaker, but looks like an expensive approach to making the sword and gem with little margin for error. I don't know why they didn't just cast the sword and shield in silver plastic and just paint the gems on like they did with Origins.

Overall, I can't really complain given the price point as the figure itself came out well, including an alternate head (depicting a modern take on She-Ra's original mask/tiara headdress) as well as an alternate cape and pauldron set which I suspect is in homage to Noelle Stevenson's PrincessES of Power.

Well if you ordered Masterverse CGI Skeletor from Amazon, donít plan on receiving it. Mine was supposed to arrive tomorrow.

    That's unfortunate to see.

I'm guessing it's because this wave hasn't reached warehouses yet?

Haven't you seen the Season 3 finale?

All their Skeletors got turned into Keldors. They have to re-havoc them before shipping.

Wow... not even a "new delivery date" but, a full-on cancel?

Does this mean that Amazon LLC doesn't even plan on getting any Mattel stock at all?

I feel like the cgi characters are the most likely to go on clearance and be available for somewhat cheaper than MSRP later.

I know those are two that I didnít preorder either one.

    Masterverse Toyline Discussion Thread

I saw a Facebook video yesterday that showed someone in the USA in a store (they said it was Frank & Sons) with both CGI He-Man and Skeletor, Zodak and 40th anniversary He-Man all on shelf.

Wasnít that the same place that got the Wun Dars early?

I canít link the video but here are some screen shots.

Hmmm... Only a $5 markup from retail? It's in the Frank & Son realm, but I would expect a bit more (some of the vendors have decent pricing, but many of them tend to veer towards the outrageous).

I'm almost tempted to make the drive there, but nah... I've been patient this long. This is a sign that the wave has landed and are starting to be trucked out to stores. So just a little bit longer before my local Target stores get them (better price, less driving, less wasted gas, less overall frustrations).

Frank & Sons is basically like an antique mall for toy scalpers. I really hate that place. Lol.

Not a lot more information, but the Amazon UK listing says it's "MOTU Masterverse Deluxe Spring 2023 Figure 1"
