Great news!! I saw it twice in theater and I'm looking foward to a third when I finish rereading the book. Also HBO Max is about to be released here in Spain and hopefully will be giving a free trial or something like that, so I expect to watch it several times more in the next weeks... I really really love it and as I tend to love lost causes, I was very nervous about being left without the closure of at least the second part. I would ask for more as there are many more to say in the other books, but that would be greedy

I am THRILLED we are getting part 2 (I want children of dune and the rest too but first things first, let's get part 2).

It STILL amazes me they didn't film part 1 and 2 at the same time since it would be cheaper etc to do it, just like LOTR, Infinity war/Endgame, etc.

NOW they have to spool up production, actors etc so it def will cost them more in the long run.

I get they would possibly be worried part 1 was a flop but if they were that wishywashy why even bother since no one would want to buy blu rays or streaming rights to part one of something that would never get finished, no one wants to pay for an incomplete product.

Well it's a blockbuster, so now part 2 has been greenlighted

And this will definitely surpass the first part where we get to the messiah part and adventure.

Frank Herbert's book has been one of the influences to James Cameron's Avatar to even one of the inspirations to The Matrix trilogy, Star Wars and more. I mean that book is one of the most influential books of all time.

There is a kickstarter for the comic going right now.

Caveat, I am sure this will also show up at retail so this kickstarter is more about getting the kickstarter extras etc.

"Blockbuster" is stretching it, particularly since it will still likely lose money since a film typically needs to make 2.5 to 3.0 times its budget, but I am glad it is getting a part 2. I liked it, but I thought it was a little slow in parts and they didn't do a great job of explaining some things. It was great in visuals, but just average in story telling.

Average storytelling? are you familiar with the novel?

And is David Lynch's 1984 attempt or the miniseries or no different?

I know of the others and the books, but haven't watched or read them. My opinion is based on movies in general. To me, it is a middle of the pack movie.

Well the books are influential stuff to things like star Wars, Avatar by James Cameron, The Fifth Element, The Matrix and so on.

Yet you think Star Wars and The Matrix did it better on the story?
