So, in 2018 Mattel got two toys into the Hall of Fame and in 2019 they got one. That means in the last two years Mattel had three of the six, Hasbro one and the other two inductees were basically public domain...

I also call B.S. on this year's week A finalists.

MLP, Lite-Brite and Masters of the universe should be the only ones this year to get in. The others need to get back to the end of the line and wait. Except for you Risk. You can get in next year. Nothing personal.

Let's face it, MOTU's not getting in. It's a footnote in toy history and nothing more. It's an example of how to drop the ball on what was once one of the most valuable properties of all time.

I love MOTU, and I assume everyone here does too, but the vast majority of people don't know, don't care, or think of it as a punchline.

I kind of agree with you just not that harshly.

When I read the requirements all three of them I was like ok makes sense. Then I immediately thought and cringed a little as I thought that MOTU doesn't necessarily meet those requirements. Not nice to say just being honest.

When I see some of the leins/lines/brands that made it they seem a bit of a stretch to me. It takes a bit of thought to convince me. I've never sat down and held up the line to the 3 requirements to see if they hold up to them.

It had a nice short and popular run and based on that it should be in. Not enough? Understandable. It's a line/brand that keeps on coming back. That's got to count for something right. Sure the franchise run isn't like TMNT or Power Rangers (the two brands that I compare a good successful run to) run.

Out of Jenga, Baby Nancy, and sidewalk chalk elected to the Hall of Fame, Jenga seems like the only no brainer. I had not heard of Baby Nancy until a baby boomer mentioned it to me recently. I hate when generic stuff like sidewalk chalk gets in. I wonder if cardboard box is in yet? Edit: Ha, I just checked and it is in.
