    Cats And Things

I'm terrible at drawing the human form, so no fan art of MOTU or POP characters even though I'd love to be able to do them. However, I do dollhouse miniatures and now in quarantine I've started painting pictures of feline companions here and past, because in February I lost a dearly beloved furbaby. I hope it's okay to share that art here.

    Thank you for sharing.

I've never had a cat, but both of my parents when they were young would keep cats.

What do you paint with (e.g. acrylics)? The separation of colours appears to be very clean, which would require a steady hand.

All three are acrylic on canvas.

Nice. I've been told acrylics is pretty forgiving compared with something like oil, but truth be told I've never painted traditionally ... I tried using oil pastels before (strictly speaking not really "paint"), but it just didn't do it for me. Perhaps lack of skill is the reason, hahah.

It takes a lot of practice whatever medium you use, and I had to get used to the canvas, too. I have more pictures on my deviantart account: lauragill. I do all my own book covers and maps.

Thanks for talking to me. It's easy for a newbie like me to get lost.

This is probably the primary reason for my lack of skill in general. I am just too lazy and the only thing I am keen on is procrastination...

No worries. Don't let my post count fool you. I am pretty much a newbie too. Most of the fans here have way more knowledge in all things MOTU and POP than I do. I found your deviantart account and added it to my watch list.

I am not on there often but will post when I draw / paint something (when I can motivate myself enough to stop procrastinating).
