I've come thiiiiiis close to doing the same thing myself, but I kept reminding myself that the things haven't even see widespread release in the US yet. I figured I'd be buying them off Amazon for more than this but less than that, and honestly I am delighted to have been able to pick them up off a shelf. Shame for anyone else in the district who wants some, though... I've got to wonder, is Mattel, even after two years, just not properly comprehending the demand for their stuff?

Sun man was there but I really don't think he does much for me. Can't even remember him from the 80s.

I actually went to find sun man (saw him last week, the only figure there besides he-man and Skeletor) to see if I can grab him to trade - but when I saw these I left sun man behind.

I didn't even really want Clawful and Anti-Eternia man.... I have the 80s clawful figure minus the armour/weapon and don't really know 'anti-e'. BUT my 5 year old daughter said 'daddy, I really want you to buy the pinchy pinchy (clawful) because he has the stripy clothes and the black he-man.

I'm now glad I listed to her.

I'd be very surprised if you did - the whole Rulers Of The Sun line were imitators of the MOTU stuff (often called KOs, but they weren't) that have been rolled into MOTU this year. They were created by a mother whose son was disappointed by none of the MOTU stuff being for him (because nothing in it looked like him). They saw only limited release in the US, and none outside.

Love the way Mantenna has the full standard articulation, even though it doesn't look like the knees bend until you really play with the legs

Has anyone in Australia noticed a delay in receiving shipments from the USA? I'm expecting a couple of parcels from Mattel Creations, a Ebay order as well as some custom parts from a US vendor and they're about two weeks late.

Yes. I have Kol Darr on the way. It started out from a place in New York state called Cheektowaga on the 5th of August. It then took a week to reach a place called Elk Grove Village, which is in Illinois, not really that far away. And then it has been in transit with no further check-ins since the the 12th (except for data being provided to and accepted by Aus Post on the 26th and 27th, which I presume means it is close to landing somewhere here - but that doesn't seem to have happened yet).

Even for the dysfunctional USian "postal" services, this is damned slow, but hey, at least they're delivering to Australia - this hasn't always been the case in the past 12 months.

(don't even get me started on the rigmarole involved in being able to make any sort of use of the tracking number provided by Mattel...)

Yeah I had a bunch of Classics sent from a member here via USPS and they took a lot longer than usual. Longer to get out of the US, longer in transit then sat at Sydney for around 10 days not moving.

Thanks for confirming. Honestly, this is as slow as what I experienced during the pandemic/lockdown

    Collection is growing - yay!

I've got a few spares in packaging. What's a good place to trade for ones I don't have? I don't want to post international

You can sell on Ebay but just select national only. I did that for a few spare Origins figures. In terms of trades, no idea. You could do it on this forum but I don't think there are a lot of members from Australia from what I've seen over the last few months.

(I personally don't have spares for trade. I collect MOC and then open one set.)

Two wave 1 Skeletors at Big W Mildura, for the first time since something like February. Is this just a random bit of stock floating about, or are they actually trying again?

Confirmed that Grizzlor was orderable for everyone. I certainly heaved a sigh of relief as I placed the order and paid for international postage (to Australia); it was all too believable that Mattel would screw this up after everything that has happened so far (I even got a proper e-mail confirming my purchase, unlike Kol-Darr where I had to chase one).

So yay, they've learnt and got it right. Well done Mattel. Now please open up the prior exclusives as made to orders...

So, after 6 gruelling weeks of post-space, Kol-Darr has reached the dead heart of Australia. Slowest post I've ever experienced in well over 20 years of international purchases, and it may have had something to do with the stupidly over-sized box it came in - quite literally 7/8s empty air (bags).

    Yay and thrrrp, respectively.

I feel your pain. My Koldarr thankfully arrived last week BUT I'm still waiting on a Wun-Dar (the one I was planning on opening) that's 7 weeks late and I had been planning on opening together with Koldarr.

I received some awesome custom heads from Barborossa Customs that are going to look siiiiick on my Origins. Also received a very awesome Panthor ramshead helmet from the talented He-Bro last week.

Planning on taking photos of all of these to show them off so here's to Wun-Dar arriving this week *fingers crossed*

    MOTU Origins in Australia

I ordered something which I don't know what it is.

Amazon's (US warehouse) description, in Spanish, implied it's a flocked Panthor but the photo was the Keldor and Kronis pack.

It's $51 so I be happy if either arrives.

Didn't see any new origins figures today but there was a New Eternia Skeletor at Marion Big W.

Rather amazingly, I scored the latest wave on a chance encounter at Shepparton Big W while visiting family on the weekend. 20% off too! So $17.20 for each. I think that is probably the best instore score I will ever have.
