Hey guys. I'm "PutYaGunsOn", most of my close online friends who know me by this name call me Guns.
I'm a 26-year-old Filipino-American guy who likes Japanese culture (on-and-off anime fan, tokusatsu fan, huge fan of Japanese collectors' toys like S.H. Figuarts and Gundam models and the like). I'm also getting into fitness, had a lot of on-and-off stints with martial arts (mainly karate and kendo, and a very short stint with Shorinji Kenpo), and I spend my resting downtime watching tokusatsu, RPing over Discord, D&D, and video games. My favorite food is sushi.
I've been a lifelong toy collector. I outgrew playing with toys at 11, but from age 13 when Michael Bay's first Transformers movie came out, I got into action figures and models again purely from a collecting perspective. I see them as pieces of art and expression. I even had a couple of custom painting stints here and there, with varying results.
As for my history with He-Man, I watched 200X as a kid and had only the basic the He-Man and Skeletor toys from that line. I was aware of the 80s cartoon existing, but I had zero exposure to He-Man outside of 200X on Cartoon Network and in toy stores. I really only caught very few episodes of 200X back in the day, but what few episodes I did see I really liked, and those two action figures were among my favorites to play with for a long time.
Then after a while, I dismissed He-Man as "that stupid show about half-naked men with silly names", and never really paid it much attention again.
But what got me back in was discovering the Spector Creative Youtube Channel a month ago. I actually found his MOTUC videos really interesting, and the more I watched them, the more I got interested in the MOTU Classics line. As of earlier this month I now own my first MOTU toy since 2002: Classics He-Ro II.
Right now he's still my only one, but I've got my eye on some others from Classics, even though I understand how rare and expensive the more popular figures of this line are. But I liked the idea of owning this Son of He-Man figure as a sort of "continuation" of the toys I had as a kid.
I also recently dove into rewatching all of 200X and even reading all the vintage toy mini-comics, so I have so much more of an appreciation for this series. I also watch old Filmation episodes for fun after a long day, and I'm currently watching the new She-Ra on Netflix. While I'm generally not a fan of the Steven Universe color palette and the overly soft art style, I think it's a fine show for what it is, and I like their version of Scorpia.
Now I've taken to going as far as call myself a MOTU fan, and here I am now. Just looking to hang out, have fun, and nerd out about a stupid show about half-naked men with silly names.
