MOTU origins preorders up at Big Bad Toy Store

Very tempted to buy most of these figures, I'm about to begin with BATTLE CAT very soon on Amazon which I think came very nice with a great packaging artwork.

I'll cherry pick ORIGINS as my purpose, for example I also like Orko and off course the main 8 characters are needed. The Castle Grayskull playset it's also well done for the price it is, now I'm waiting for MASTERVERSE news

While the individual LOP Mer-Man is listed as sold out the "Wave 6" set lists Mer-Man and Evil-Lyn along with Fisto and Stinkor so I'm assuming it's that version of him in that wave since we see the vintage toy style one in the Wave 3 set and pre-ordered it. (there's no pics of that wave yet) I'm hoping the new Evil-Lyn is Filmation or 200X colors. Never cared for banana slug skin version.

I keep hesitating on ordering everything partly to space the payments out, but also because part of me actually wants to go on the hunt and find these at stores. I mean we gotta have movement at the brick and mortar or the line could die early. Still I want to ensure I get the hard to find ones. I pre-ordered wave 2 since Scare Glow seems so hard to get.

The best part about ordering through BBTS is being able to cancel pre-orders at any time.

Just make sure that it is all added to your "pile of loot" and then you get to decide what ships and when.

Yeah man, I couldn't sleep last night and caught it at like 3 AM EST. I'm not collecting the line but grabbed a Landshark. Mattel went out of their way to say "over sized" in the description so I'm hoping it's sort of a median scale to accommodate Classics figures. The vintage vehicles were laughably under scaled so I'm willing to give the Origins vehicle a lot of slack for scale. And those vintage styled boxes do help it go down nice and display MIB on a shelf. If early reviews say no good then I can always cancel for flip the vehicle.

I think I'll try to collect most of the line at retail, though there are a few I preordered from BBTS in case they're hard to find later, like Scareglow and the Battle Armor variants.

As of this moment, individual carded Scareglow is back in stock.

I didn’t know the land shark was gonna be oversized ? Your right they where a little small back in the day. I hope we actually get a Attack Track that actually looks like the one in the original cartoon

Yeah, per the copy on the BBTS page, Mattel’s wording I’m assuming, “ This large-scale model of Skeletor's iconic attack vehicle has ferocious jaws that chomp up and down as its wheels roll.” In the photo it looks like the Origins figure would have to reach forward to grasp the handles. I’m hoping this means that a Classics figure could sit all the way back and with arms at 90 degrees may hold the handles comfortably. I’ll keep an eye out for reviews. I wouldn’t expect this of the entire line but they’d double sales on any vintage vehicle or mount that Classics didn’t get to.

All I want is a friging Shark Tank with some friging laser beams!

Yeah. I’d actually prefer the Filmation Tracks to the vintage one, but would be content with either.

Also, Ram Man seems to have two different faces: one in the older pic that's been around for a while, versus the new ones.

They went full-on vintage with Ram Man, right down to the doughy arms completely lacking muscle definition. Love the added articulation and separated legs though! Where's the second head with the mouth guard from?

Clamp Champ underwent some colour changes - weapons from silver to grey, armour from medium blue to light blue, and skin tone a darker shade. I'm good with it. Not sure why he needed a second head with a smile however. Seems like a waste.

200X Ram Man and a few others had battle masks and armor that would "transform" when ever Man At Arms would call for BATTLE POSITIONS!

I think I'm confident enough I'll invest in some ORIGINS figures and vehicles especially for the packaging artwork which is so MOTU vintage inspired and works just fine in honoring the franchise

Honestly do not know the artists involved but most of the figures are coming up very nicely done! Between new stock photos of Ram Man, Ninjor, Lop He-Man then Clamp Champ and Castle Grayskull is looking good so far I feel very optmistic for this line.

and now it feels like CLASSICS is becoming an "old thing" because there's more exciting MOTU stuff in the future to come; I'm not sure about my feelings for MOTUC now, with ORIGINS having the potential to give us even more playsets, vehicles, and a vast array of characters selection from POP, POG, and eventually NA. Not sure there will be 200x stuff just make no financial sense with MASTERVERSE taking its place soon

It's such a great time to be a MOTU FAN in the world right now, so much licensed products that we could barely dream a decade ago

Whoever said (earlier in the thread) that this line was being held hostage by Flaw-Mart was 100% correct.

I hope everyone buys Origins from ANYWHERE other than there.

In these sets of images, it looks like the final pictures of both Rammy and Clampy are the painted samples, whereas the others look like the actual figures we'll receive...

They both came out great, just don’t think Clamp should have been a deluxe though.

It was a very expensive preorder, but I myself grabbed it all off bbts as well. Im still hoping to come across some of the stuff sooner but here in NY it has been a real mess since day 1 in general, and even with it in target now, unless you're at the store at 8am opening your odds of getting this stuff is low. I know cause I am in MULTIPLE toy groups where people are showing their mass purchases every day 3x a day. Its sad but Ive had to stop collecting the motwweu figures due to a sheer lack of ever seeing those figures so this comes as a great pleasure to just be able to buy this stuff casually online
