    Hal Holbrook died

    https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/02/t...rook-dead.html

Hard to believe Father Malone from The Fog 1980, Henry from Creepshow, Cranston from Cats Don't Dance and more is dead.

    He was a fine actor.

I remember him from Creepshow, but I think I mostly remember him from his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln in the TV miniseries North and South and the TV show Evening Shade with Burt Reynolds.

    RIP Hal

I know he's been in lots of things but I primarily remember him from the fog and Wall Street.

He was a class act all the way. Fabulous in Wild in the Streets and many other fine roles in many other fine films. Wonderful in an understated role in Wall Street, one of my favorite films. Classic and prophetic line, delivered dryly to Charlie Sheen's Bud Fox: "Kid you're on a roll. Enjoy it while it last, 'cause it never does." Imo, his portrayal as Deep Throat in All the President's Men was enough to make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. Shows you what an actor can do with just a few minutes of a film's total running time.

95 years old, 63 years in the business. I'd take that run...

    RIP, good sir.

What a track record. As if his acting credits aren't enough, scroll down and click on 'Self'.

I don't watch horror movies or R-rated content, but I do remember Hal Holbook as Reese Watson (the love interest of Dixie Carter's Julia Sugarbaker) in the classic and funny sitcom Designing Women. I'm sorry to hear of his loss.

I remember him mostly as a corrupt cop in the second Dirty Harry film, Magnum Force.

Not sure why but I came across him in something recently and looked him up - I remember being shocked that he was alive. It's a shame that he passed

I can't believe that no one has mentioned his Mark Twain.
