Going for a specific look in the FILMATION cartoon, but with a modern interpretation. No bug heads or swords, just bones and fur.

This is ridiculous dude. You have no idea how much I'm image fan of your work. And it's not the vodka talking I swear.

Working on the hair and the various horns, guessing I'm about 70% done. This is my first 3D model in about a decade, still learning.
No idea what that back of the throne is supposed to look like, I couldn't find any references from the cartoon for the back of the throne, so I just made one up for now. If anyone can point me to a good photo of the back or side please let me know.
I'm exporting this directly out of the modeler rather than using a renderer that is why the lighting is so weird. I can only have one light with shadows.

All new sculpt for the top half of the skull to match the cartoon more accurately. Bunch of other changes including adding a jaw to the side panel.

absolutely beautiful man. So jealous
First 3D sample is in hand.
It's come a long way since I posted the first version, that old skull looks really bad, I'm embarrassed to have uploaded it. This version has the missing bones on the side and the finished skull. Other than tweaks for fit, the sculpt is now done.
I've been getting a lot of messages asking about the size of the throne, it's 7.25 inches tall, just short enough to fit on any of the Castle Grayskull levels.
The throne was specifically designed to fit the standard MOTUC Skeletor figure, which can't actually sit, but leans back with his knees bent. Getting it so the throne cradles him was tricky, the fit is almost perfect, I'm going to raise the front end of the chair 1/4 inch so his knees are closer to the fur. I'm trying to avoid the floating look caused by the hard plastic loincloth. I've already created the new version and it's ready to print.
I finally got around to He-Bro's video on the throne that came with Snake Mountain throne. I avoided it because I didn't want to be subconsciously influenced by the Super 7 design. Wow. I shouldn't have waited or worried. It looks interesting, but with the price tag of the playset it should have been tested and tweaked beforehand.
I worked very hard on the scale so that it should work with the lines. I've tested Classics, Origins and 200X. They all fit.
Next update late in the week. One the Classics fit is dialed in, I'll move onto making molds, then plastic color tests.

I hope you guys don't mind my using this forum as a digital diary for this project.
I know these look exactly the same, but trust me, it's slightly bigger and the MOTUC Skeletor figure now fits perfect. I'm aware of the gap between the two parts, that is because I didn't push it in all the way yet and I wanted to be able to take it apart for test painting, the top half already has a light drybrushing to bring out the details. Just some minor tweaks here and there and it's off to mold making.
If anybody has suggestions for improvements, now is the last time to make them.

Love it. How well does it scale up with MOTUO?

I meant the Origins figs. Looks great, I like how they fit.

FEB 25th DIGITAL DIARY UPDATE
One week delay caused by redesigning major sections the table and issues with the 3D printer. I don't think anybody will mind waiting since I added features and made the toys much better and larger.
THRONE
Made very minor detail changes to back of chair
Chair design is now final, no more changes expected
First mold negative has been printed successfully, second is currently being printed
Each throne mold part takes approximately 14 hours to print, three to go
TABLE
Crystal ball is now much larger
Table is much taller
Major scale increase, but took care to make sure table and chair together will still fit on a 12" shelf for display
Added a Lithophane to the underside of the crystal ball
Added section underneath table to hold the LED light in right position for the crystal ball
Table design is now final, no more changes expected
Will be making the four table molds the normal way with clay, not looking forward to it, but the shapes are fairly two dimensional
TIMELINE
All the chair mold negatives are expected to be completed over the weekend
Silicon mold first pour on Monday or Tuesday, each pour takes 24 hours to cure in the tanks
Eight total parts to pour and cure, but I have two separate pressure tanks
Theoretically could start pouring resin into the molds are early as next weekend - assuming no delays

Thanks!
Sadly the earliest I might I have something interesting to show is the end of the week. Unless people want to see the mold making process there isn't much to photograph right now. Just have lots of weird looking mold parts.
The final part of the throne bottom mold negative should complete printing in 48 minutes, if there are print errors, that will cause a several day delay. [edit - printed correctly, now waiting on silicon cure test]
I'm doing a test to make sure the UV resin doesn't interfere in the silicon curing process. I'm assuming there will be no issues as I'm using higher end food grade silicon, but I have to run a test just in case. [edit - Arg. I have the wrong silicon for UV resin, it's not curing. I'm going to have to order some of the other type, no idea how long this will cause of a delay.]
If all goes well, I'll pour silicon into two of the four throne molds on Tuesday, first resin test ~24 hours later. If that works, pour the rest of the throne molds on Thursday. If not, I'm may need to hand make the molds in clay, which will add several weeks to production time. [please work, please work, please work...]
Out of curiosity I uploaded the table to a website that prints 3D files, the quote was $328. Just for the table. That is part of the reason why I'm going through all the effort of casting these and rather than posting the files on Shapeways. The table is over 9 inches wide, which in 3D resin printing terms is massive. Most people use them to print miniatures or dental crowns. Resin printers with build plates over 9 inches start around $2K, but I'm using a mid sized and printing at a 45 degree angle to maximize the build volume.
