    Super7 SilverHawks Figures - CONFIRMED

Well, they confirmed it on their FB page that Silverhawks figures will indeed be revealed SOON! I don't care how long they take to get into my hands, that will be a day one pre-order purchase for me. I loooooove Silverhawks. I'm currently (and slowly) collecting the old line, but man are those things expensive if they are in good condition. Can't wait for these!

I'm with you, but I'm waiting to hear if these are Ultimates or Reaction. I hope it's the former (or both).

Agreed. But I donít think theyíd go to the trouble of getting this license and throw it away off the bat with reaction figures. I think weíre in for some ultimates and (hopefully) some nice sculpts and accessories. Hereís hoping!

I didn't care for Silverhawks as a kid, but I'll probably be getting these if they're Ultimates.

I have no interest in Silverhawks but can this mean the Blackstar license is on the horizon? Iíd be all in on Blackstar even though I donít trust Super7.

I missed Silverhawks as a kid in the 80's (I still don't know how or why) but I am open to giving them a chance.

The show itself was cheesy and not great.... As bad as Thundercats, really The theme song was killer! It was the concept that hooked me, though, and I liked it even more than Thundercats. The figures were cool in the 80's as well. I can't wait to see what they do with them in modern tooling. VERY excited!

I absolutely love Thundercats, both the 80's and 2011 version, but that new Thundercats Roar does not interest me.

If you like Thundercats, you would probably like Silverhawks. They are not identical, but the same studio made both shows (so likely a lot of the same talent behind it), so there is some similarities. It is on DVD in the USA. Not sure about Australia offhand.

I've found two volumes of Silverhawks on DVD from Amazon, so I shall check into those soon.

Very interesting news - I quite enjoyed the show during its brief run back in '86. Was surprised at the time that there weren't more people into it. I agree with some of the other comments here, that if this line is just another lame ReAction approach it would be a massive disappointment. If however it's done on the same 6 inch buck the Super7 has used for MOTU, Conan, and Thundercats, then it might just be awesome.

Super7 keeps expanding into 80's properties - how about a Galaxy Warriors ultimates line?? Sun Man? Thundarr the Barbarian? Power Lords? Blackstar? I'm tempted to mention Bravestarr as well, but I doubt Mattel would license it. My mind is dancing at the possibilities...

The question is, did they decide to go chrome, metallic paint, or just colored plastic?

Pricing and delays. But looking back, I was probably too harsh and shouldn't have said that.

You shpuld watch some episodes online first rather than waste yoyr money. I watched several epispdes a few years ago and the Silverhawks cartoon is nowhere near as good as Thundercats. Although it's better than Tigersharks.

I don't think Mattel own Bravestarr. As far as I know Filmation created it, Mattel just made the toys.

That will be interesting to see indeed. My hope is for vac metal, even knowing the limitations it has on highly articulated figures. As Iíve observed, itís seems Brian enjoys the nostalgia aspect of these lines and, just has he did with the vintage He-Ro figure, I can see him doing the vac metal on Silverhawks. At the very least, Iíd like SOME sort of shiny metal treatment on these. To me, itís just necessary. Hereís hoping! I think we will see some reveals in the next few days. Canít wait!

A while ago in an interview Brian alluded to something coming out that people would be like "I didn't even know you could do that". I'm hoping he was referring to vac metal.

To be fair, to match the look of the cartoon, they wouldn't have to go for vac mattel - it actually might look a little weird if they did. I imagine it will be plastic with some more advanced paint apps to emulate the look on the show.

Hoping for vac metal or electroplating but I think metallic paint could work if done right.

Probably won't get many if any for myself. While many of the figures had some pretty cool concepts and I liked the cartoon less nostalgia for me. My brother was pretty heavy into the figures though, not sure he is into figures or anything. That and some financial issues he's having now it would have to be gifted to him.

It was on SUPER early in the morning. I think it was white fuzz (no shows) then the national anthem, an old timey 5-minute long cartoon about rolling down white river rapids while logging forests, a very short live action Hammy the Hamster show, a half hour of Dracula's Castle (very scary as a kid) and then Silver Hawks came on around 6:30am as a kid, and maybe earlier. That's from memory.

So if you were normal and sleeping at that time, you'd have missed it completely

BEST intro and theme song, super 70's/80's disco jam with guitars

You'd expect Bonnie Tyler or Meatloaf or Boney M to be singing to this tune - it's pretty cool!

There was also the problem (at least in the US) that network affiliates were only contracted to show a percentage of the networks programming. This was mostly so they could show local news, and sporting events etc. But sometimes shows would get lost because reasons. They would also sometimes time slot shift stuff for various reasons, not the same as preempt btw.

with the advent of the internet it happens less often that shows are dropped from affiliate, also some of the local programming is better handled with the internet. If you didn't live in one of the major cities for example that had an actual Network broadcasted channel you could see things such as local home real estate and other similar things.
