It's awesome that they had Mike Patton do the vocals!
And the game looks pretty cool but unfortunately seems to be for PC only.

I saw this trailer yesterday, and I have very mixed feelings about it.
Like everyone else, I loved the TMNT arcades (and others of the same style) and the console games that had the same basic design. I played TMNT III: The Manhattan Project a ton on my NES. However, as an adult, these types of games seem like a very limited experience. For instance, I got the old, 90s X-Men arcade game on PS3 (I believe), and it was fun for about two or three playthroughs, and then I never played it again. I think it was only about $10, but it still probably wasn't worth it for what I got out of it.
I think the great thing about the experience of games like these is playing with other people. Going back to my TMNT III reference, I played that game a ton as a kid, but it was almost always with a friend. As an adult, the odds of me ever playing this game with friends is slim, and even if I do, it'll probably only be a time or two. It seems like the best case scenario would be getting four people together, splitting the cost, playing through the game one good time together, and treating it like a fun, one-time experience; like going to a movie or something.
Outside of that, I don't think there'd be all that much to a single player experience. There are full game playthroughs of TMNT Arcade/ TMNT II at 25 mins, TMNT III at 1 hr 20ish min, and TMNT Turtles in Time at 40ish min. Even if this new game was twice as long as TMNT III, it just doesn't feel like it would be worth it. There would have to be a whole lot of extra features that added significant replay value, and even then it'd be questionable to me.
The game looks awesome and a lot of fun.
Growing up I had the original NES game and the arcade game on the Commedore 64.
I also have the Turtles in Time game on the PS3. I think I have played it the most of all the TMNT games.
Looks like I might have to buy a PS4/5 or a Switch for this game LOL.
Although I am not much of a gamer there are some I do really enjoy playing.

I know what you mean about the X-Men game. Growing up I got to play this at the arcades and got it along with a few others on the PS3. Here in Northern Ireland there really wasn't many arcades as such...well not in the way the US have them. There was/is an arcade about 20 miles from where I live in a seaside town, but it was really only open over late Spring and Summer. Again I was never that into video games as such but I loved playing X-Men and Golden Axe.
Yeah, I posted this reveal over in the Console Wars thread the other day:

Here is some more info:
TMNT Shredder's Revenge features old-school pixel art based on the original 1987 character designs and co-op brawler action with up to four people. Also, for some reason, Mike Patton is here to sing the classic theme song in the debut trailer. Here’s the basic setup for the game, which looks to span a huge range of classic TMNT locales:
With Bebop and Rocksteady assaulting Channel 6 and stealing super gnarly devices to support Krang and Shredder’s latest twisted plan, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge sees the Turtles battling across a righteous range of timeless TMNT locations. From Manhattan and Coney Island, to city rooftops and dank sewers, help the fearsome foursome trounce Foot Soldiers, Triceraton Warriors, and Rock Troops all the way to Dimension X!
While it’s too early to tell how well the game channels those classics, the creative team does have a strong pedigree. The game is billed as a collaboration between Dotemu, which worked on the excellent throwback Streets of Rage 4, and Tribute Games, which features some of the talent behind Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game and the cult hit TMNT game that launched on the Game Boy Advance.
There’s no word yet on when Shredder’s Revenge will launch, but Dotemu says it will be coming to both PC and consoles.
If it truly lives up to games like Scott Pilgrim and, especially, Streets of Rage 4... then we are in for a treat!!

This game looks like it was made for me. I LOVE these old school side scrollers.
My best friend has a vintage 6 player Konami X-men and the Captain America and the Avengers consoles and we play them all the time in his game room. Brings me back to my teen years of wasting tons of money at the local arcade.
My daughter and I REALLY hope this comes to Switch!

I hear what you're saying but there are people like myself that play the original TMNT Arcade game all the time for the nostalgia factor and enjoy it. I personally do like to go through as a single player with each of the turtles
And like you said, these games are great for groups. I love having people over and playing these side scrolling beat'em ups. TMNT is probably my favorite and if not is in the top 3.
I'm excited about this one!

Love it!! Definitely going to pick up for the Switch.
Yeah, I am SO ready for this!
I remember spending so much money on the first TMNT arcade game at my local arcade/bowling alley/pool hall back in the day!
I don't even know if it is a possibility, but I would LOVE to see a bunch of unlockable "guest" characters pop up as you play through the game... Streets of Rage 4 (developed by the same team) added so much fan service and cool unlockable content that was actually fun to earn.
I can't wait!!
