    Custom MOTUC Bionatops

Inspired after completing my Tyrantisaurus Rex Custom, I decided to attempt a Bionatops. Here is the result:

A few more pics from original base CollectA Triceratops 1:15 through clay sculpting:

    My parts & tools list:

It includes painterís tape, a plastic Testors work space drop cloth, universal bonding primer, matte acrylic paints, paint brushes & 1 sponge for paint application, air-drying clay, clay tool set (& specific tools I used), bottle cap (for water to help shape the clay & to mix paints), two sets of needle nose pliers to bend the hanger metal into shape for the gun mountís skeleton under the clay, electrical tape used to hold pieces of bent wire in place, a Dremel 300 rotary tool with a reinforced spin blade to cut unwanted plastic away, paper towels (to dab up runaway paint mishaps), magnifying lenses (to help paint the customís eyes & smaller detailed touch ups), & matte clear acrylic sealer (provided a little shine and protection over the top of the acrylic paint)

A scale pic I found when considering base trikes:

Part of my inspiration on selecting the CollectA Trike were these forum threads:

Not your issue, but I never liked that He-Man sat on his head, I always thought he should sit behind his head.
I agree. It was tough to go with the head sit vs. a redesign where the rider sat behind and used that extra shield. Overall I chose to take both the Tyrantisaurus & Bionatops in the direction of homage to original to the max.

This is amazing. I might try making one of my own now! Where did the tech/weapons come from around his head/around he-man's shoulders? The stuff you didn't sculpt I mean. Thanks.

Wow, I love these. Very very awesome work. Great paint job too.

Did you use the modge podge to seal the paint?

The original 1980’s vintage Bionotops canon for his left hand and a Classics canon that came with Pre-Ternia He-Man for his right hand (essentially the Classics redesigned Bionotops cannon).

I used Mod Podge to seal my first two dino customs. It resulted in a tacky feel on the softer plastic Tyrantisaurus head, but no issues with Bionotops. I switched to a Testors spray lacquer for my third dino, hoping to avoid the tacky softer plastic reaction, no issues on the 3rd as well.
