    PREACH !

I think this was the episode where I just gave up on the MYP series as a whole. I don't hate it, I just don't have any love towards it. The magic is missing. I believe if this was the base series instead of the Filmation Series, MOTU wouldn't have the long lasting staying power it enjoys today. But regardless how I personally feel about the series, your reviews are still enjoyable!

That was probably a good choice to give up last week, seeing as this week we got Buzz-Off's Pride, which is one of the weakest outings of the series, as far as I'm concerned: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2021...zz-offs-pride/

Morning all. This week's instalment is Snake Pit, which was the first episode I enjoyed in quite some while: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2021...-21-snake-pit/

    - - - Updated - - -

And this week we've got The Island, which is possibly my least favourite of the entire series so far: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2021...22-the-island/

A silly but fun one this week - The Sweet Smell of Victory: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2021...ll-of-victory/

I didn’t mind the episode The Island for the simple fact we were introduced to a new character Dekker. I like his backstory and was thrilled when he was released as an action figure.

Was the Dekker figure in Classics? I don't remember him in 200X.

Yeah he was in the Classics. He came with two heads, the Dekker version we saw from the cartoon and a younger MAA version of him.

    The giants are called

    Azdar, Belzar and Chadaz

That "friend" of Stinkor's who inadvertedly helps Two Bad, is Vormus.

    Man-At-Arms' mentor is Dekker
(though yeah, them other crab folk don't get names. It's just claw guy #1 and claw guy #2)

The name Mekaneck still does not have a "h" in it anywhere.

Race of wolf like creatures that mine Eternium, are Kulataks.

Ah man, my spelling is appalling! Or my hearing, in Vormus' case.

Do they actually use the names Belzar and Chadaz anywhere in the eps? Or are they just from the script?

The Giant's names appear in voice acting credits at the end.

But no, in actual episode they only mention "What are you doing, Azdar?" and not the other two by name.

Coming up on the end of the first season now, here's The Council of Evil, Part 1: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2021...f-evil-part-1/

Here's The Council of Evil, Part 2, bringing the first season to a suitably epic conclusion: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2021...f-evil-part-2/

I'm going to have to chalk you up as one of my very sadly disappointed readers, clearly! But since you ask so nicely, here's a sneak preview of the series summary that'll come at the end of Season 2:

"I think the series was very good."

If you want elaboration on that, you'll have to wait for the summary's publication!

I can't seem to comment directly on the page anymore (something about my login being expired even though I just logged in and re-logged in), so I guess I'll start adding my comments here instead.

Ep25 - This was another example of giving hints to the past but not quite laying it all out, which was both fun and frustrating. From Skeletor and Duncan's chats we get the hint of the past relationship between Duncan, Randor, and Keldor years ago... it was a nice taste, but I wanted more. I'd totally watch a show about the younger years of this trio together leading up to present day (or at least around the time of Adam and Adora's childhoods).

Ep26 - Another great thing about the new CGI show is that all of the Sorceresses (Teela, Eldress, Lyn) are capable, important, and helpful.

Is the Bow perving in the background the Filmation version? (I don't know much about that one - I tried the show and the mini comics as a kid and those weren't my thing at all.) I guess that's another reason to appreciate the Netflix SPOP.

Bring on season 2! (and yeah, it's such a shame that MYP 200X died way too soon)

Ah that's annoying, no idea why that's happened. I don't understand Wordpress, tbh...

Sounds good - I've watched the first 5 eps of the CGI and am really enjoying it so far.

Yep, I was referring back to Filmation Bow's rather incessant creepiness... His SPOP incarnation is so much better (though he did begin to get on my nerves by the end of the series).

Today we've got The Last Stand, after which the reviews will be pausing for a couple of weeks or possibly months - I'm not up to date with review prep...
