Origins Display and Collection pics (show us what you got!!)

Hello All,

With Origins now having a pretty impressive lineup at this time; offering things like the beautiful SDCC boxed set, the amazing Lords of Power Set, LandShark (!!), a flocked Panthor (!!!) - Origins is really stepping into its own a bit from our beloved Vintage, NA, 200x, Classics figures.

Big or small, clean or messy - please share pics of your hard earned Origins collection here!

I will kick things off with this "family gathering" pic of my "one of every variation US collection".
I tried hard to track down things like Man-E-Faces in his variations, color boots BA Deluxe He-Man vs the newer unpainted, the boxed sets, the "Art of design" Skeletor, etc.

My display nook has spilled over to "completely unacceptable" in my garage area, so moving this soon.

Thanks brother! I am struggling to find more space, Classics and 200x take up much of my footprint, I just didnt expect Mattel to deliver this much sweet loot this quickly.
Its been sort of the hardest of the MOTU lines to secure in hand, but with the retail lock lifting from last year, BBTS has treated me very well - they are the only reason I have many of the newer waves, so my many thanks to them.

Much appreciated! It has been, a "character building journey". I love this line something fierce! I just want it to be actually distributed so that everyone interested can actually get them. I have hope that the line is doing well enough for Mattel, that perhaps all the seen logistical issues are related to COVID, that the timing there created something of a false start distribution wise. My hope is that we are just months away from seeing wave 2, 3, 4 actually make it to stores in such supply that scalpers, desperate collectors, (and even the now proven store employees) do not buy everything on sight in one purchase out of FOMO, since they are so very rare right now.

However, I lived through the 200x collector years, and I don't wish that distribution pain destruction on this line, but it has me very worried.

I spent so much time in july-dec 2020 creating mobile phone monitors, waking up at unforgiving times to a walmart.com email alert that a figure was in stock at MSRP, only to lose that many times if not reacting within a 30-60 second "sold out" threshold. I had to establish a "trading guild" in my town, and entice non MOTU fans with NECA TMNT, Marvel Legends, Star Wars or GIJoe classified, to trade my findings for their MOTU items they knew I was uniquely (among them) hooked on. In reality that does not work well with other MOTU fans, you have to join forces with the diligent but disinterested in competing with your own goals!

BBTS, they have been "clutch" for me on the most recent waves, I am extremely loyal to them - and they take good care of me. Hang in there, if you pre-ordered with BBTS, you are in safe hands, the best hands for ordering figures online in my book.

I wonder if anyone could figure out how to 3-D print a way to attach the Masters of the WWE Universe Grayskull Ring to the Origins Castle Grayskull. Maybe it could be a ramp of some kind like what the Rattlesnake Mountain Ring comes with.

Oh, to find a single Horde Trooper, let alone six.

Binki - Meat-Beat is a creeeeeeepy custom. Clever use of the back of the head, painting it silver to look like metal. But *shivers* that face...!

It was a surprisingly easy custom all-in-all; I filed down the glue residue without removing it entirely to create a leathery roughness while I cut into the head here and there with a knife to make the skin seem a bit torn.

The character he was modelled after has the left side of his face replaced with a leather patch so I tried to incorporate that to give him a more slapped-together look.



If memory serves I based the design off early historical attempts at skin grafts for burn victims.

I think Smitty did something similar with his Horde Troopers to make em look like cyborgs.
