Why does Stratos look human now? I don't mind some changes, like Ram Ma'am, but this new Stratos is just too much of a change. He looks more like Falcon from Marvel. I'm sorry, but Stratos as always been a non-human, beast-like character. So, are all Avions just humans in flight-suits in this show? That's a real bummer and too much of a change to his character. I don't care about changing race or even gender, but once a non-human character is now human, then that is just too much.

I did like the show, but I don't like this. I'll still watch it and buy most of the toys for my nephews, but not this Stratos for sure.

Of course, maybe Avions are still non-human in this show and I am over-reacting, but this looks too human.

Also, it's pretty standard that most of these vintage characters are going to have major overhauls to their designs... Ram Ma'am and Sorceress have pretty much set the tone of what to expect. I can't wait to see whatever the Stonedarians' designs are, but I don't expect Rokkon and Stonedar to match their vintage looks.

Kinda looks like janky rendering. Like he has big man cleavage, then the seams on the chest accidentally make it look rounder than it actually is.
Edit:Idk tried breaking down the shapes

 

Edit 2: I like his design but he's not quite Statos. Here's a sloppy edit of him with a color scheme that screams Stratos a bit more. Room for improvement but I think this is a bit of a step up? Maybe?

The redesigns are interesting, but will never be my preferred look for any of these characters. I understand the need for redesigns, I just wish that they would have stuck with the iconic color pallets for these characters. I.e., Man-at-arms should have some green, Ram Ma'am red/green, Stratos red/gray/blue, etc. That way they'd be a bit more recognizable to older fans. Interestingly, it seems that the villains have stuck closer to their vintage colors than the heroes have. Skeletor, Trap Jaw, and Beast Man still look pretty close to their iconic looks; or at least are recognizable as the character we are familiar with. And Evil-Lyn borrows from the 200x color pallet.

I am incredibly disappointed with Prince Adam. The sculpt is fine, but the paint apps are lacking horribly! I guess they went with a more basic look to keep prices down. Plus, I know I'm not the target audience.

Oh well....

I believe that’s the issue. Prices. Star Wars sites are reporting that Hasbro extended the Star Wars license and picked up Indiana Jones but that a price increase this year is coming. Looks like several dollars per figure. That’s on top of increases from last year. So mattel may be looking at more increases this year as well.

You're probably right.

If I was a decent customizer, I could buy the Adam and touch up the paint myself...but I customize about as well as I perform brain surgery. Still might try it, though.

As I was telling a friend recently, I think my days of buying new toys are just about done because of these increases.

Wow, these toys and the series are looking even cooler by the minute! I love Prince Adam's figure...very show accurate. Statos looks okay I guess...I think it's the lack of the helmet and 'ridges' that throws it off a lot.

The Mr.Clean look is throwing Stratos off. He needs his signature helmet. Even if it was blue and white, at least he would be recognizable.

I wonder what Mosquitara will look like?

I think Stratos looks pretty cool...but he doesn't look anything like Stratos. He looks more like a snow & ice themed character.

( I do understand that this version of MOTU is a complete reboot )

Yeah. That recolor you did looks 1000 times better.

Right now I like the design ok but it reminds me too much of the falcon from marvel comics
