Huh, I did not realize that.
Dylamug first appeared in "Duel at Devlan", the first regular episode after Secret of the Sword. The writers and animators then forgot about him until near the end of the second season!

And it just so happens that that other episode, "Shades of Orko" is my single favorite episode.
It's part of why I want an Origins version so bad...I need him, Grizzlor, Leech, Mantenna, Rattlor and Shadow Weaver to recreate that episode

I can easily see my little niece getting a few of these to mix in with the set of Origins figures I keep for her to play with when she's here. I actually think that Skeletor looks legitimately pretty cool, and I'll probably grab one of those for myself. Overall, this doesn't look like my idea of a great line, but then, it's not supposed to. I'm happy to see them making a MOTU toyline that kids might actually be able to find!

I agree. Also I can't wait to see what the figures of other characters from the show look like.

I really hope these figures are in the same scale os the Origins figures.

Ya know, they made the original line for me. Then they made Classics for me. Then they made the Filmation versions for me. At the end of the day I'm going to buy some of these as well, even though they didn't make these for me. I like what they're trying to do. There really isn't a version of He-Man on the market that looks like what I have in my head, and that's a tall order to nail that image, much less do that and it be the same as everyone else's! (Not gonna happen.) What I'm getting at is I can either enjoy what they're putting out and meet it on its own merits, or be perpetually miserable.

What a great time to be a Masters fan.

Animation design looks good, but these designs do nothing for me. The figures themselves look like rubbish.
I do like the images of Skeletor and He-Man on the boxes. He-Man looks like He-Man (in the face)...

The two large figures look like bubble bath bottles. But the (I guess) smaller figure of He-Man is pretty good. I mean, it what it is. I don't see anything particularly bad about it. Looks like an action figure aimed at a child. I won't be buying them. My interest in these is getting a good look at the characters.

I really like the design of the regular He-Man. That armor on a classics figure would look fantastic. Reminds me of 200x stealth armor He-Man, which was one of my favorites... except for the fish sword.

I won't try to review them the same I do (mostly for myself) with Masterverse and Origins. The call here is for my 4-years old son, hehehe. If he wants them and they're seen in toy stores around here, I'll support him with my wallet. Once they're in hand I might look at them with special curiosity since I've been a MOTU fan since the very first time I saw those vintage figures in a toy store aisle, but I won't try to like or dislike these figures, they're for kids!

Same here. Based on the early leaked images from the cartoon, I was expecting to have zero interest in this line. But seeing these. . . I dunno, I'm curious to see more characters in this style.

What is with literally everyone having to change the Power Sword - it is the ONE iconic piece of the series that should remain the same. There is no need to change it. To be honest, the best change they did was New Adventures because it actually made sense - it was supposed to look more futuristic. I loved the look and originality of that one, but ever since 2000X, the things have been Final Fantasy oversized Anime garbage that look absolutely ridiculous, completely unwieldy and impractical. I don't even like the new Masterverse one, it looks too much like the movie version to me. Shoot, I'm not even a fan of Classics swords or the Origins ones for that matter. They keep screwing up a classic - the ONLY time that the real Power Sword has ever been justice was the Super7 Cartoon Prince Adam with the snap-on lightning effect (which I promptly bought for this very reason).

Not a fan of the overly Anime character designs either. I much prefer realistic drawing. Thundercats was the closest to Anime that I ever got or appreciated.

I don't recall him being part of the 200x series at Mattel when that was around, or even working at Mattel in that time. Jeremy Padawer was in charge of 200x MOTU, and he would have better insight to what took place (and is accessible on social media), not Scott. The no pants thing has been passed around longer than that. I remember reading something about it before I joined the forum, back in like 2018 or 2019.

Although, idk, maybe Scott said that back when he worked at Mattel. Idk, I know better than to blindly believe everything he says (although, I'm loving his Star Wars videos, he's like the only YouTubers who regularly cover Star Wars in a positive manner and seem to genuinely love it; all the Star Wars is doomed and Lucasfilm civil war stuff is tiring and Qanon for Star Wars fans, but that's completely off topic), but I've heard this outside of his videos, so I'm inclined to believe it.

There have been 34 years of cultural change since the vintage line died.
Little boys have no frame of reference for a hero who doesn't wear pants and a shirt. Conan the Barbarian was huge in 1982 and his two Marvel comics continued to sell after MotU died. The action heroes Stallone played went topless.
There hasn't been anything like that for a looong time. WWE wrestlers became more modestly dressed. There hasn't been a Conan/sword & sorcery movie that didn't bomb in a long time, or a sword & sandal one that used skimpy ancient menswear.
