Masters of the Universe Revelation Episode 5 Talkback Thread *SPOILERS*

Expect *SPOILERS* in this thread after this episode debuts on Netflix.

This thread will be unlocked closer to the air date.

Additional He-Man.Org Rules and Guidelines for This Thread - Please Read!

There has been a lot of discussion on where specific topics to be discussed land within this thread. This forum is intended to be all-ages and more light-hearted in spirit and is not to be dragged down into the typical debates about sex, politics, race and religion we see online often leading to anger and hurt feelings. Those topics can still be discussed, however they will be discussed in the Tar Swamp where there is a more open, adult platform for those topics.
To help keep the forums fun and friendly, the admins and moderators have conversed and decided guidelines on what can and can’t be discussed in this thread and what will be referred to the Tar Swamp.

    What can be discussed:
    • The specific reasons why we enjoy the show
    • Constructive reasons why we dislike the show
    • Reasons why we like/enjoy specific characters
    • Constructive reasons why we dislike characters
    • Relationships between characters (all inclusive and diversity - heterosexual, homosexual, pan, etc.) that are clearly defined in the cartoon

    Topics for the Tar Swamp:
    • Debates about sex, politics and religion
    • Debates about race (discussion on race swapping of characters is allowed, but must not be political in nature)
    • Debates about morality and any sexually related topic, or any politics associated with sexuality
    • Speculation about a character’s sexuality

Mega spoiler: Don't click it. You have been warned.

Didn't take long to kill off the main character.

This is lame. The total opposite of cool.

Yeah, he's not dead, those are his kidneys, not his heart. Adam'll be fine, he'll just be tended to by Teela, and Evil-Lyn takes over for volume two

Nice cliffhanger of an ending. I think all of the "dead" characters aren't so dead, but I guess we will have to wait for Part 2, whenever that comes along.

An interesting take on what Preternia is supposed to be.

But since it gave us Bionatops, the previous He-Men and Kuduk Ungol all in one episode, I'm okay with this change for this series.

Though poor Kuduk being some caveman Sorceress.

So far I'm very happy with this mini-series, even if I'm already over angry Teela and just want to see anyone but her on screen. I hope that when she learns her destiny as the next Sorceress that she ends up in a better mood.
Proud supporter of the Snake Men.

Most Wanted Filmation: Ileena, Twiggets, Dragoon, Widgets, Dark Dream, Lady Valtira, Count Marzo, Chimera.

No Slave Girl? Watch us hurl!

A barbaric world without slave girls? That's truly barbaric!

I liked the last 5 minutes. Nothing before that made any sense to me. It was nonsense. If preternia is so great, who cares if everyone on Eternia dies since they’ll just end up somewhere similar but more pristine and better? What are the stakes? How does technology and physical laws work there? Are the prior He-Men selfish azzholes for not helping out down below but instead spending their days hunting and smelling flowers?

I have to admit I liked it a lot more than I thought I would, but my expectations were really LOW. Now I can't wait for part 2.

I don’t think you were paying very close attention. They explain multiple times that the champions end up there as their “great reward” for a noble sacrifice. Normal people just die, rot, and “become trees” as Moss Man put it. If the champions leave they are forfeiting their immortality to do so. Adam makes that sacrifice, and gives up eternity in paradise for his friends.

This all sounds very intriguing and I can't wait to watch it later.

I'm having an absolutely rotten day otherwise so this will probably pick me up a bit.

In Norse mythology, the valiant dead go to Valhalla, where they participate in the Wild Hunt each day. Preternia appears to be the realm where the wielders of the Power of Grayskull go upon death to do the same. Fitting since Masters of the Universe borrows from Norse mythology. That would make Subternia the equivalent of Niflheim, and Scare Glow its ruler Hel.

You’re right, my kids were constantly asking questions and I must have missed that part.
still though, not very heroic of He-Ro etc to just let everyone on Eternia rot when they actually do have the power to intervene but choose instead to spend their time frolicking in the woods.
I also don’t get how technology works in the afterlife.

This episode was fantastic. I loved seeing all the He-Men (and it seems it went for a deeper cut than even I knew, since idk who the guys talking to presumably Sharella were), Preternia was so cool. I honestly really like the idea of all the like hero people having an afterlife just for them where they just vibe. I really hope we get more of them, since I loved their dynamic. I also loved the bit when Mossman showed up, the I heard everything bit actually made me laugh.

Adam and Teela riding the discs was really fun, I love that and hope to see more of them. Like, they're so cute together.

Them burying Orko was heartbreaking, I got a little misty eyed. Same with Roboto's death.

Now, onto the elephant in the room. God, Adam's death caught me off guard. I a really hope he comes back. I mean, there has to be some crazy sacrifice play someone can do. Also, Mark Hamill was great as Skeletor (not just here, but throughout the whole show). That cliffhanger is gonna kill me, though. I need a release date for part two, because I need to know what happens next.
