In regards to it being cheesy and colourful, I still think having action a long the lines of Tokusatsu could work.

Skip to about 1:40 in this video.

I don't mean in terms of say the belt yelling stuff out, but I could see the general way the action is staged and put together could work, it's a nice blend of cheese and epic, that could work if that's the kind route they went down with this show.

But we all have our own opinions!
    Stunning picture as Xena.

I remember enjoying Cutey Honey live action TV show, so She-Ra could be something similar if it were made in Japan.

Im all for this live action adaptation but they have to tell she is a princess with a twin brother. That she has a family somewhere looking for her. I hate the Princesses of Power show for ignoring this. There a lots of ways of doing it.

About Xena, I think I get what some of you guys said about it being trashy. There are some episodes that are gross like the one they got lice and scabies. But some other episodes had the trashy aspect and were funny and charming. I dont mind if they go the Xena road in some aspects but the visuals need an upgrade.

I would love to see beautiful locations for this adaptation. They can do it without having to spend a lot of money. If they have a good photograph director they can transform simple places into perfection. Dont know if you guys get me...

What little I know about her as a person seems really awesome, too.

I'll admit, I wasn't a fan either. I was always more attracted to Gabrielle or Callistra

    Xena? Not so much.

I love the entire Hercules & Xena-verse and I love Lucy Lawless as an actress and as a musician, with all her CD's and concert DVD's.

One line from the Path Of Vengeance episode resonates with me particularly, and could be an analogy for Adora/Despara's journey from villain to hero. It's when Varia (Tsianina Joelson) says in regard to Livia/Eve (Adrienne Wilkinson):

"This woman has pleaded guilty to her crimes, even she admits she can never do enough good to erase the evil she has done and yet she's willing to keep on trying. As Queen of the Amazon nation, I hereby sentence Livia, killer of the Amazons to death...so that Eve, the Messenger Of Peace may live".
"Tell me I am beautiful - it means nothing to me. Tell me I am intellectual - well, I know it already. Tell me I am funny however, and that is the greatest compliment in the world that anyone can give me".

As we say over here, "I would not kick any of those three out of bed for eating crackers."

...They probably say it elsewhere, but we say it over here, too.

I get the sentiment, but as much as I'm attracted to all three, crackers in bed is a deal breaker. So wrong on so many levels!!!

This will likely come out before the new MOTU movie.

WellI like most of those. Although Im wondering if she was the one who had Jeremy Irons leave teethmarks in the scenery during Watchmen.

I totally forgot about this being a thing. She has an impressive resume, hoping for the best! And, yeah- it probably WILL come out (and maybe even be better) than the Netflix MOTU live action flick

I hope so. I want Jeremy Irons as Hordak. You could direct him to do anything from nuanced Shakespearean feelings about Adora's betrayal to gobbling down Scenery Pie.

    Cool!

I would love to see this make it to full-fledged series!

I wonder if they will explicitly cut any ties to Adam/Eternia (like SPOP), or drop very subtle hints at He-Man's existence?

I'm all for the tradition of live-action MOTU villains being played by accomplished actors. That and Irons' scenery chewing would fit in perfectly.

Due to those pesky rights, I would expect no ties to He-Man.

Even though it likely won't be connected much to the original or He-Man, I hope it borrows more from Filmation She-Ra than Princesses of Power. To get as wide an audience as possible, it needs to appeal to more people than Princesses of Power did or it won't get a renewal past the initial order. Perhaps, they can do an origin story similar to Despara or even skip a total retelling of it since it has already been done enough (kind of like the Holland Spider-Man films). You could just sprinkle in parts of her origin story in different episodes and have Adora start off as She-Ra.

    You're probably right...

Which begs the question, do they close the door on He-Man altogether?

Will Adora/She-Ra be the strongest person in the universe, chosen to wield the Sword and protect all of Etheria and beyond?

Not that I'd mind (in a lot of ways, She-Ra is more powerful than He-Man anyway and could have potentially been the Sorceress' first choice - before the Horde kidnapping), but it would be like having a Supergirl show with absolutely no ties to Superman / Metropolis...

I think well have a better idea of what to expect when we hear some casting choices. I mean I dont see He-Man showing up but if the show is more agreeable to Mattel than SPOP was, Mattel might be willing to give them more leeway as far as what they can imply and which on the bubble characters can show.

I think we would have a better chance of a cross over if it was on Netflix considering there are 2 He-Man shows on Netflix.

I would absolutely LOVE live action She-Ra, and speaking of Supergirl, Melissa Benoist would be the ideal Princess Of Power!

Hoping this is good! And more in line with She-ra than the last attempt.

Xena meets LOTR meets GoT with some more color. Whispering Woods looking all Filmation like. ...for certain scenes anyway. That could get expensive fast.
