Mark taylor's motuc skeleton king custom action figure by hkc

    Hello fellow Orgers!
This one is a deep cut! The Skeleton King was a design made by Mark Taylor (Creator of Skeletor) in his early college years, way before he worked for any toy company. You can see however how later on, it influenced the creation of Skeletor.

The figure was made out of a Demo Man base (obviously) sculpted shoulder garments out of a combination of Aves Apoxie and Procreate, cast Scareglow head with resculpted mouth, jaw and eyebrows. The crown was the most difficult part to get right since a basic shape has to be laid on first, and then sculpt it layer by layer.

Check his video for a behind the scenes look at how he was made:

I donít blame you if you donít want to give away your secrets, but Iím really curious how you made the bandages. Did you make strips of green stuff (or similar) and the wrap them around the figure? Or did you sculpt them directly on?
Please check out my custom figures. The first few stink but I get better.

Hi, I don't use green stuff. Is terrible for sculpting and super hard to sand. I use Aves Apoxie for hard parts and procreate for the softer ones. In my case I flatten out the aves, then lay it out on the figure. Once that is done, I then cut it and add the detail bandage by bandage. I use references from the Sota Sagat, Wrap Trap or Mumm-Ra just so I can add variety to the shapes.
