Beautiful figures, just stunning really, but...only 6 POA. That's not going to cut it in 2021 I fear. I really want to get these, but if I can't put them into cool poses, then I don't know. For me, everything will come down to price, because at this point their limited articulation overrides their awesome designs.
If Mattel decides to explore those early Mark Taylor designs using the Origins MOTU buck, then these are toast.
These look incredible. With Emiliano, Josh and Peer behind this its probably the one toyline that I'm the most excited about. Finally, the idea of seeing new figures and designs that capture the style, colour palate and aesthetic I love.
As an aside, for me personally, the 6 POA is a must for a line like this. It would not feel authentic to the era if it had too much articulation modern articulation. I'm so excited to see these wonderfully talented people giving us new designs... can't wait for more news![]()
"Where does he get those wonderful toys?"
These look great. I can't wait to get them. That Teela looking character with a Battle Cat helmet is really cool.
To quote Ray Wagner, "Those have the Power."
Congrats Emiliano, Peer, and Josh. Looking at these gives me that feeling I used to get when I saw new characters on the shelf in the 80s.
As always, you've captured the spark and the spirit of the Ancients.

This line is going to be amazing, and will fill a lot of holes in my vintage MOTU collection. Especially the female heroine, who will be standing right next to He-Ro. 😊 I hope the pricing is similar to Super7's 5.5" figures from 2019.
I just saw these on toyark.
All I have to say is….

Man, I love all these designs. I'm in a place in my collecting where EVERYTHING is so expensive - even mainstream lines, that price is really going to be the deciding factor on these. When I tried to do Eon Quest about six years ago, I know the cost of doing a 5.5 line with this articulation wasn't cheap, though. Just the cost of getting to prototype stage can be pricey. Even with nice-sized minimums. So I'm not expecting $15. Heh. But if they can deliver them at similar prices to other indie lines I'd be all-in. The designs of the whole first wave really pop, and I love seeing really great, detailed new designs in this scale.
So is there any booth pics from the Lucca Comic Con floating around anywhere?

Just found out about these, so I only subscribed to get the emails this morning….
These look fantastic!
As long as the price isn’t too prohibitive, especially getting them delivered to Canada, I want to be all in with this line. I love the Mark Taylor Kang Gi figure, and the Guerrero inspired figure too.
Wait isn't Mattel using lords of power name?
Yes, I thought they trademarked it not too long ago, or something. I seem to remember it being recently mentioned in the Trademarks thread over in the Classics forum.
Who is the guy guy in the turban and the female feline character , is there any source material on those guys?
Trademark protection arises from use. Registration only gives the registrant the presumption of ownership in court. In this instance, Mattel last used the mark in commerce in August of 2020. Formo then filed for the mark, which was already considered "in-use," nine months later in April of 2021.
Part of that 1b filing requires certain legal attestations, the first of which is 15 U.S. Code § 1051(D): "To the best of the verifier's knowledge and belief, no other person has the right to use such mark in commerce either in the identical form thereof or in such near resemblance thereto as to be likely, when used on or in connection with the goods of such other person, to cause confusion, or to cause mistake, or to deceive."
Formo cannot legally make that attestation, as a cursory search, which the registrant is required to do before filing, demonstrates that the mark was not only already in-use in commerce in general, but in the identical category of goods in particular. So on that basis alone, the registration would be terminated if challenged.
The first step in the legal process is discovery, and this is the sort of move that unnecessarily invites scrutiny to something that would have otherwise gone largely unnoticed. Legally speaking, it is like daring someone to fight you.
Discovery is usually the part where companies **** their pants. That’s why CNN was quick to settle with that one kid they dragged through the mud. I’ve seen a lot of other people looking up the trademarks, one of these characters might be named Derlock. That’s come up.
Between these, the Joe Classified line, and the 3 teasers for Fuerza T I’m beyond looking for a good side hustle to actually a 3rd job.
