From wot I hear, none of the MotU figures are being manufactured in Malaysia, so that might not necessarily be the case.

Normally even with other toys Mattel makes in China, we normally get the scraps and have to pay inflated prices to get wot should be retail releases.

Origins is the first time I've ever seen us get a toyline before the US.

Malaysia is still closer to China than the United States. It's possible to get from China to Malaysia on foot.

Logic would dictate so, but for the longest time we still got the scraps as Mattel Malaysia is usually on the butt end of Mattel HQs priority list.

Part of wot made origins such a mystery to Malaysian toy collectors. It's like people at the table throw ye a few scraps of bones with shreds a meat that ye can gnaw off then one day in late 2019 the whole MotU turkey landed in our laps.

Which is why when I hear people complaining about being unable to find certain figures (or origins at all) and only able to obtain them from online dealers at ridiculous prices I'm like "...why did things suddenly switch around?"

Not that I'm complaining mind ye. It's nice paying RRP for once.

It's probably why I went so whole hog into Origins.
I'm thinking "I'll never get to collect a line at this price again! Better enjoy it while it lasts!"

Someone could have been working around the normal supply chain to get US bound origins products early.

My Origins Land Shark is made in Vietnam. Appreciate it. Fun times when Mattel was manufacturing in Mexico, Taiwan, France or Argentina.

I like his channel but he only recently announced there would be no new waves for Malaysia according to super secret sources. And now this.

The pic that he's showing are from a private specialist shop that only brings stuff in small quantities. My internet was down for three days and I missed the wave!

Hoping my usual place can get a resupply order.

That would mean no more new orders, anything that's already been ordered will still show up.
