I hate to burst your bubble but, they always end in .97 and the Duplico page has said $17.97 since it went up- I’ve been monitoring it almost hourly since the page went up.

EDIT: of course, it’s possible that regionally, the prices might be different

The regular price for most action figures at my local Walmart has ended in "97" for years now.

At least all the way back to the launch of Masters of the WWE Universe, which were $14.97 from the beginning. The current WWE Superstars line has been $19.97 since launch.

As far as I can recall, literally all the price point signs all over Walmart end in ".97" lol. That doesn't mean anything at all.

I believe GameStop is the retailer where a price ending in .97 indicates the item has been moved to clearance.

I would bet that Wal-Mart had to order at least 10,500 of this figure for Mattel to agree to make an exclusive. They and Hasbro don't mess with runs in the hundreds, even reusing existing tooling, like a mom-and-pop action figure line will.
We've also seen a case of 8 figures that's solid Duplico. It's massively improbable that they'd order like 100 such cases to sprinkle around 1% of their 10,500 stores, since an executive high up enough to negotiate with a toy company for an exclusive knows what's hanging on the pegs at individual stores. They might have ordered more than 80,000 of this figure, but department managers at individual locations won't know what to do with them because either the pegs are still full of Wave 7 or they ordered removed from the planogram in the post-Christmas reset.

lol Sods Law, they came out last night and I assumed everyone would see them on their social media. I was surprised this morning, when no-one was discussing them.

    Playing it cautious:

The TMNT line plus new molds at Mattel Creations/online and Masterverse new sculpts could be the significant investment.

    Even more cautious:
Mattel HAS been investing heavily into the MOTU Brand the last few years, and MOTU HAS been benefitting from that, with three new lines and a ton of new product that has been created – and sold. Lot of stuff has been created, with more on the way.

Anybody think there's a chance of more CGI designs showing up in MV, or do we think that form factor is DEAD?

My guess is no more CGI since both the cartoon and that toyline have ended. But who knows?

I agree with Lich Leech. However, I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see some of the unique characters (Mosquitara and Ram Ma'am especially) show up somewhere else down the road - whether in Masterverse or Origins.

Origins' parts swapping ability is practically begging for a CGI style Tri-Klops attachment.

A reminder that MV has also Filmation, New Adventures, and Movie toys all from sublines that, last time I checked, were dead for a long time.

So all hope's not lost. But yeah I would raise my expectations too high.

Yeah the fact that Slushead is coming to MV was a pleasant surprise, so I am holding out hope some other NA characters, like Sebrian and Sagitar, will be released
