Origins has been pure joy, taking me back to some of the happiest times of my life. My favorite vehicle/playset after Grayskull was Point Dread and The Talon Fighter. I can’t wait to get it and relive that magic again. Grayskull and PD/TF captured my imagination like few other toys did.

I remember being really sick with the flu one year... kept me from school for over a week.

My mom surprised me with the Talon Fighter / Point Dread (which was so awesome), but my favorite parts of the entire set were the Record and Storybook!

I would stay in bed, eat chicken-noodle-soup, and constantly listen to that thing while flipping through the book... which, by the way, still has some of Alcala's best work in it.


I distinctly remember the back of the book having a large picture of He-Man from the cross-sell images.

I wonder if Mattel is going to include any homages to the Record/Book in the Origins version? That would be sweet!

In addition to what've already mentioned, Spydor, Dragon Walker, Battle Ram, Attack Track are also a must have in this line. All brand new, 200X, NA, concept based vehicles are a plus.

Wasn't there a rumour a while back that Skeletor's chariot from 200x was coming?

I'm all-in on vehicles too. They're great. I just really want the other half of the battle ram ASAP.

No real rumor, but Mattel did file for a trademark on the name again in November 2022.

MOTU in its essence is a world building toy line just like Star Wars, G.I. Joe and the other 80's IPs... Characters are great, but all the rest is what makes MOTU the extra special toy line that it was.

Those things came along so much later in the line when I was a kid that I never owned them and therefore would not miss them if they were not made. Some people may feel differently but there are so many other 'necessities' to me besides those.

Totally agree.

I like the vehicles but I prefer any figure, even a totally new one never made before than a vehicle.

And Id pass if they released the weapons pack, Stilt Stalkers or the ArtilleRay.

Meteorbs... If they remade them the same way they improve Stridor from the vintage version I would be in.

Absolutely not - that was all creatively bankrupt schlock that telegraphed the end of the vintage line.

I'd like to see stuff like Stilt Stalkers, Mega-Laser, etc. if they came with a figure this time around... almost like a Deluxe variant or multi-pack scenario, I guess. I love what they ended up doing with Prince Adam & Sky Sled and the more recent Mekaneck & Ground Ripper sets.

I must possess all, or I possess nothing!

So many people never had this stuff they'll want all of it. Anybody I know personally or online wants all of it, and I'd bet I'm far from alone in that. It only comes down to Mattel's ability to stretch the line out for the most part.

I have a few thoughts on this.
Part of me wonders if Mattel would find success regarding the Meteorbs if they were offered (don't kill me here) in a blind-bag format at places like Target or Wal-Mart. Especially if they offered colorway variants of some of them (or all). Yes, it would drive completionists absolutely nuts... but also wouldn't it be kind of brilliant in terms of marketing them? Gotta catch 'em all and all that.

My other crazy thought was... and they missed the boat for this year... but making a MOTU Easter Basket available on Mattel Creations that had all 10 of them "eggs" available in one fell swoop. Maybe for Easter 2024?

Beyond that, I'd take one here or there as pack-ins with the likes of Rokkon, Stonedar, and Granita.

The artwork only is worth the price of the vehicle! I love all the LOP and Mini Comic characters they put into the artwork! Incredible!

Ok but here everyone's completionist probably must stop: Thunder Puncha ammo and extra Slime Vat for Slime Pit - I'm not sure those are a must for anyone? (especially assuming you just want to display the vat without using it?)

I wonder what are the odds that we'll slowly get whole Weapon pack piece by piece. We have black armor from Wun-Dar, yellow armor and shoulder pieces from Moss Man...

Not everyone loved that. It made impossible to army build vehicles without getting extra figures - or buying a second Mekaneck for extra neck piece without paying for second Road Ripper.
