Also, I am fully prepared to hear every Back to the Future joke that can be made up keep em coming!

Make sure you dont park too close to anyone to your left or right otherwise will be be doing some damage to your car (or other cars) with your gull wing doors.

Interesting that you bring that up... a little known fact is that DeLoreans can open up their doors easier than other cars when someone gets too close! They only require 11 inches of clearance because they open UP instead of OUT. I've seen it done many times and it's pretty cool!

Yeah, you have to charge them at special stations. Kinda like Tesla stations, but they have huge lightning rods coming out of them.

Yes, they are sparse outside of the US. Considering only 9,000 or so were produced and slightly over 6,000 still exist today (aimed at and mainly shipped to the US), they are a rarity. I've seen videos of 1 or 2 owners in Australia, but I believe they had them shipped in. The cost of these cars is going up exponentially, so it's getting harder and harder to get them sent. My DeLorean dealership mentioned the other day that they were repairing one and putting it on a boat to the UK. I'd say that if you are wanting one, find a way to do it NOW. The prices are projected to go to 6 digits within the next few years.

Johnny I know you and others are fed up waiting on your Super 7 pre-orders but isn't buying a time machine a bit extreme.

My neighbour just bought one a few months ago. He does magic tricks for a living, so I really wonder how he could afford one.

In that case he must have just made one magically appear.

They are surprisingly more affordable than one would think, BUT. Depending on who you buy from, you can almost always bet that the car is gonna need major work in replacement parts. Its a 40 year old car and you just have to do the work to bring it up to speed. Thats when the real cost comes in. The reason I bought directly from the DeLorean Motor Company is because it is their policy to not hand over a sold car until it is thoroughly looked at and all needed replacements or upgrades are finished until the vehicle is near show room quality. Granted, the cost of the car was more, but I wont have to worry about much of anything major breaking. Peace of mind is worth a lot with an investment like this.

Curious, was your neighbors car running and did he drive it a lot?

Fun Fact, I moved furniture for a living for ten years. And once upon a time, we moved a guy with a DeLorean. We didn't move the car itself - nobody but him was touching that thing, obviously - but it was the very first thing we discovered and the thing we all remembered for years about that job. If I recall, it mostly sat in his garage but it was in drivable condition and looked really pristine on the outside.

As you might expect, he was rather rich. Which would be obvious upon seeing his house and property, way before you got in the garage to see the car. Between that job and my wrestling gig, I've met way more multi-millionaires than you'd expect from a nobody like me. But anyways, you see the lot, you see the house, and then the guy's like "Yeah, I have a DeLorean in the garage," and it's like "Well OBVIOUSLY. You probably have a Van Gogh in the bathroom, too, ya mook."

Less Fun Fact: It was pouring rain that day, it was a 14-hour load (for next-day delivery), I got walking pneumonia, missed two weeks of work and carried a lingering deep-chest cough for almost a year, until it miraculously went away by itself one day.

    So, y'know, Ups and Downs.
