UPGRADE: Custom Hordak
Have you noticed that the Hordak Buzz Saw's cape is longer than the normal Hordak's? I always thought that Hordak's short cape was ugly, it looked like Robin's cape, it didn't match the grandeur of Skeletor's master.
So I asked my mom to make a satin cape for the Hordak.

That looks much better than his crop top cape. 😁
Custom Castle Grayskull - Part 1
It took me a long time to publish this, 8 months to be exact, it's just that I know myself however much I say I finished, if I have a new idea I will continue, so I would have to republish, but I think I've exhausted all my ideas ( for now, haha).
Castle Grayskull was something that left me very doubtful if I should buy, my intentions with the Origins collection was to buy only the main characters, and anyone who has seen my post about customizing the figures, knows that I have practically the complete collection haha. My doubt is because the Castle is very expensive in my country, it's the equivalent of 7 Origins figures, and I don't think the Castle is so cool inside, I think it's very basic, but I ended up getting the Castle as a birthday gift and about being basic that's where I come in.
First a few notes, I'll split the post into parts, I'll talk first about the outside, one more thing, I see a lot of people doing customizations with super realistic paintings for the Castle, but the figures are still the same, super colorful and it ends up looking like that they don't match the Castle, so my idea was to customize the Castle, but, without it losing its excense, keeping the idea of being a toy.
- I put chains on the doors.
- I made the ledge on the tower.
- I did the detail on the crown of the skull on top of the Castle.
- I painted the details of the supporting wooden beams.
- I darkened the Castle's green stones, and did some lighting details in fluorescent green.
- I painted the shield on the door silver, and made some details in black.
- I made the Spirit of Grayskull.
- I improved the shape of the roof of the rear tower to make it more conical, I removed that "Oca Indigena Brasileira" format that I had previously.
- I painted the sills of the side windows brown.
- I put a wooden window, in the windows that are behind the computer.
And then did you like it? didn't like it? do you have any idea? please tell me what you think.

Looks pretty cool. Love the chains. The paint job brings out the sculpture work and makes it look more finished. And the spirit is a better color than the one Mattel made. I see the planets hanging in the tower. I look forward to seeing the inside.
That conical tower is cool too. And it was clever to put in wooden shutters in the windows to block the computer. Very clever indeed. I wouldn't have thought of that.
Not your issue, but I never liked the color of the drawbridge that Mattel picked. If I ever paint mine im changing that first.
I liked custom, it looks better than factory!
I'm glad you liked it, HAHA it received a spoiler from the inside so I almost put something in the front to hide it.
About the shutters, I got this idea from a person I knew, but this person exaggerated, he covered ALL the windows in the castle, I didn't like that he did that, but I wanted to take advantage of his idea somehow, so I had the idea of putting it on the back windows of the computer, as it doesn't interfere with the aesthetics inside and out, it's an extra detail in the castle, because I think the castle only has green stone on the outside, I wanted more details.
About the door, the color didn't bother me because I painted the parapets and beams to match the same color.
Thank you very much!
Custom Castle Grayskull - Part 2
Now the really interesting part, which differentiates my customization from the others, because it's even a good thing to comment, because people only think about customizing the outside of the Castle?
Many things were done 100% by me, but so did I, I bought some cheap toys and used the accessories for the Castle.
I want to talk about the two things i liked the most about my version of Castle Grayskull. After having seen Revelation I wanted to have the Power Orb in the Castle, the Orb is easy to get, just buy a marble in the right color, but I needed a place to put it, and something like this magnificent couldn't stay anywhere, i thought of a chest, but i couldn't find it to buy a chest, as you can see in the photos after i managed to buy one. So i had an idea, on the Sorceress throne there is a space below so i took advantage of it and I made a drawer, a secret compartment in the throne and inside it has the Power Orb.
People who have followed my posts on customizing the figures know that I don't like Teela's snake armor very much, personal excuse for me it just doesn't match the character, so the first thing I did is remove her armor and leave it at the bottom from the box of figures, until I had the brilliant idea to turn that into something useful, and this idea is totally mine, I didn't base it on anything. I'm not a great connoisseur of Masters of the Universe mythology, but from what I understand on Tella it's destined to become the Green Goddess/Eternian Goddess, but until then the armor and weapons have to stay somewhere right? and why not with style? haha, so i invented the Eternian Goddess's Armor Stand.
It is noteworthy that I used the official materials a lot for creative choices of other things, such as: Filmation cartoon, the new Revelation cartoon, I used a commercial cartoon of Grayskull Vintage Castle, Vintage Castle Prototype and I used the old mini comics and Castle Classics. Besides that I also invented some things that I think made sense to be inside the Castle.
- I painted the nails on the floor and on the guns stand.
- I made torches and glued through the Castle, this I saw in the Grayskull Vintage Castle commercial.
- I made the Sorceress magic mirror, this I saw in the Filmation cartoon.
- I put a skull on the ceiling, this I saw in the Filmation cartoon.
- I pasted the Castle flags on the walls in the Sorceress throne room, just like in the Classics Castle.
- I have pasted a shield and two swords on the wall beside the window of the Sorceress throne room, like in Classics Castle.
- I made the Sorceress crystal ball, this I saw in the Filmation cartoon.
- I bought a chest for near the Sorceress's throne, like in mini comics.
- I made of putty epoxi the dungeon with monsters coming out.
- I bought a cage to hang near the dungeon, this I saw in the Revelation cartoon.
- I made shackles near the dungeon, like the prototype of the vintage Castle.
- I made the shields near the door the same as in the mini comics.
- I made the holograms of eternia and its moons, as in the filmation cartoon and in the poster that comes with the classics Castle.
- I bought a cauldron of potion.
- I bought more shields and swords, and hanging on the walls.
- I bought barrels and put them in the Castle, like in the cartoon revelation.
- I bought a target.
- I made a shelf of books.
- I bought a bat, and I put on the ceiling
- I bought a mace, to fill all the shelves on the gun stand.
- I glued string to the stairs to detail the ropes.
And then did you like it? didn't like it? do you have any idea? please tell me what you think.

You did an awesome job! It really looks great. Quite an improvement. My favorite part is the Teela snake armor stand. That is fantastic. Next favorite is the orb hidden in the throne. Bravo!
The dungeon and the planets and the library are also highlights.
This is a more fun playset with what you have done.
How did you make those books? They even have designs on the spines.
Thanks! I spent eight months thinking of things to do at the Castle, I still plan on reading some He-Man comics to see if I have any new ideas.
I forgot to comment on the post that I also painted the eyes of Teela's Snake Armor in green and made the pupils in the shape of slits, because in some art on the backs of the figures' boxes the eyes are painted.
The books I made as follows: I bought a VERY hard cardboard, cut out squares and glued several on top of each other, then I printed book covers that I found on the internet and then I folded the covers on the spine and "dressed" the covers in the squares of cardboard glued, so on the opposite side of the spine what is seen is the cardboard that simulates the yellow pages.
I don't know if I explained it well, unfortunately my castle is not at hand so I can take pictures of the books, if you want another day I can try to take some pictures. Not all books are glued to the shelf. The shelf itself, I made with popsicle sticks and then painted them.
I don't intend to collect She-Ra characters, I bought Hordak for being Skeletor's Mentor, not for being She-Ra's villain and I also don't intend to pick characters that never appear in any cartoon, like Ninjor.
Also, I found this She-ra very ugly, I didn't like her hair being the same color as the golden accessories.
I wouldn't buy it anyway because of these reasons I mentioned, but besides that, there weren't many Wave 3 figures for my country, so even if I regretted not wanting to, I couldn't buy it.
Very ingenious. Great problem solving skills there.
Custom Sorceress
Purpose: Filmation Version
I've had this custom planned since last April, just waiting for the release of this figure. Okay, maybe I say this in every post, but, this might be one of my favorite custons haha.
An observation, I removed the feathers painted on her belly, it's not like this was wrong before, but I think the high relief of the mold is enough to represent them.
Modifications:
- With epoxy putty I redid the eagle face on her head and increased her hair, and then painted it.
- I painted his eyes black and painted some lashes.
- I darkened the color of her lipstick.
- I increased her cleavage clothe.
- With paint remover, I removed the feathers painted on her belly.

Great job! Filmation Sorceress is my very favorite and you did her right!
I bought an extra Sorceress because I wanted to remove those abdominal feathers too. They don't look right. What kind of paint remover did you use? Did it damage the plastic or finish at all?
Thank you!
Glad you liked it. In the past I used acetone to remove paint, but acetone in some cases it damages leaving whitish stains, but recently I found another option to remove paint, "Banana Oil" is used to soften nail polish when it is thick. Unfortunately I don't know if in your country the name of this product is the same.
