Creator Mark Taylor has passed away

Mark Taylor, one of the creators of MOTU, has passed away.

I met him and his wife at a past Power-Con and they were very friendly to talk to.

I am heartbroken to hear the news that Mark Taylor has passed away. Mark was a visionary who touched all of our lives, directly or indirectly. The world is poorer for his absence. Thank you to Mark for making all of our childhoods more magical and for sparking our imaginations. Thank you Mark for creating the world of He-Man which has been so meaningful to me and to so many in the community. Mark's influence will live on far beyond his lifetime.

My deepest sympathies to his wife, Rebecca Salari Taylor and to his dear friend Ted Mayer. Rest in peace, Mark.

I heard this not too long ago. Very sad to hear. After learning of the passing of this visionary my daughter and I flipped through the Mark Taylor sketch book that he personalized for us a few years back. Prayers, condolences for Mr. Taylor's family and a big thank you to Mr. Taylor himself for being responsible for so much of our childhood!

I'm in shock. RIP Mark. You introduced me to reading, fine art, imagination, bonding and play. You will never be forgotten.

He is the reason why we are all here, this is such devastating news, I feel like we should pay him a tribute of some sort as he created our most beloved protagonist and antagonist.

Wow, this hit me more than I thought it would have. I have really fond memories of playing with Castle Grayskull with my dad on Christmas morning. Mark Taylor, an American treasure.

Thank you for being part of a great childhood! Best era to be an American kid in history.

Good journey to a true visionary. I always thought of Mark Taylor as MOTU’s own Ralph McQuarrie…with a bit of George Lucas thrown in. An indispensable creative force, conceptual illustrator, and true talent.

He certainly made the most of his time! Condolences to his family.

Sad news. His talent helped contribute to so many of our childhood memories. It was cool that we've been able to learn more about these great creators the last decade or so.

Really stinks. Whatever happened to that other artwork he was supposed to release like 2 years ago?
