Changed my display cabinet and turned the previous one into a bookshelf.

This one can fit my whole collection, vehicles and all! Yay!

Yes, I bought a few MotWWEU figures for cheap earlier this year and they have provided a lotta parts for these customs.
Being an obsessive kitbasher I think at least about 80% of my figures have been modded in some fashion.

Last time, I swear!

In my crazed efforts to make a dolly of my lopsided Flesh Golem hero Sakhmed, I realized it was time to return to the beginning.

Having located a new MotUWWE John Cena head from a factory reject I bought for cheap online, I stripped the original paint work that gave it this creepy uncanny valley quality. I've never been a huge fan of toys modelled after real people, but I came to realize that Cena came the closest to Sakhmed's facial structure and despite the slight difference in skin tone, remained the best candidate to bring my creation to life.

With this, I finally have a figure of my lopsided flesh golem to stand amidst my collection of pantsless space barbarians!



And once again, his bio and oh-so riveting origins story:

Meat-Beat

Real Name: Faker 57
Allegiance: Independent

One of many robot replicas of He-Man produced by Skeletor, Faker 57 was battling against He-Man when it was flung into The Fountain of Truth, sinking into its bottomless depths.

As it sank, it was given a glimpse of the truth of Eternian existence, driving it (by AI standards) quite mad.
When asked, it speaks of "The Child", a seemingly omnipotent being that determines the fate of all Eternians, and that the fate of every single creature, biological or mechanical was predetermined by this creature's unfathomable whims.

As time passed, others began to notice that Faker 57 was behaving oddly, muttering to itself when idle and sometimes emerging from Snake Mountain's underground archives. Seemingly harmless quirks, or so they thought.

Two months later, on a routine check of the robotics lab, Tri-Klops examined an unusually bloody workbench, only to discover a smashed tracking unit and defused chest bomb.
The kind commonly found in Faker units.

With its cloak wrapped around it and cowl over its exposed skull, Faker 57 set off through the shadowlands.

Still possessing its programmed hatred of He-Man, Faker 57 made modifications to its facial structure and steel limbs before wrapping itself in a crudely-stitched shell of cured leathers, all so it no longer has to look upon the hero's face. Looking at its augmentations and makeshift hide, it renamed itself Meat-Beat.

A gruesome parody, Meat-Beat sets off across Eternia, eager to carve its own legends and prove that it is more than just a pale imitation of Eternia's greatest protector.

What if Adora never left the Horde and crushed the Etherian Resistance?
What if she followed her adopted father's orders and furthered his plans of conquest to Eternia?

I've always wanted to make a Horde She-Ra but her original white dominant color scheme and not very villainous face made such an undertaking difficult.
Fortunately, suitable parts were discovered over time.

• Head: Marvel Legends Stepford Cuckoos

I had to pull back one of her bangs and glue it behind her ear, first softening it with a hair dryer while holding it back (ow scorched fingers) and applying glue.
This allowed me to take the tiara (with clips snipped off with a modelling nipper) and test fit it against the hair to see which bits I would need to shave and shape to fit. The head socket is much larger than the balljoint of the neck, so I had to fill the gap with some blutac.

All in all I'm pretty happy with the results.

Nothing particularly amazing, just some swapped bits here and there.

Ye know wot makes origins such a dangerous rabbithole for me?

See, originally I could justify not buying a figure with little quibbles like "I don't like his feet. It throws me off" and however small, it gives me an excuse to not buy the figure or failing which I could say "oof, waaay outta my budget."

That doesn't work with modular toys with a low price point.
Still, while I bought far more than I initially intended, I'm proud of each and every little modified figure, no matter how minute a detail it may be.

I found some New Eternia Beastman accessories going cheap on Carousel so decided to spruce up me Andre figure.

I guess he's my Grizzlor equivalent now.

Made a custom Spikor from a Masterverse figure I found in the online bargain bin combined with a leftover Skeletor buck.

Here's the collection updated with him as well as a few others!



Also I finally managed to get Clamp Champ to keep ahold of his bloody namesake!

Heated his thumb and pressed it down so he can now keep a better grip on his mancatcher... Shield... Thing.

(Is it a shield? It looks like a shield. I wish it snapped onto his wrist instead of being held like a bazooka)

That lad was a handful since every Clamp Champ in Malaysia seems to have misaligned knees.

I had to buy two of him (luckily he was on sale fairly early on) to Frankenstein all the best bits together.

The vampiric enchantress of Eternia, with a vague resemblance to another of my creations.

A roaming predator stalking the shadowlands of Eternia, Allura makes use of her beguiling magicks and superhuman reflexes to capture her prey and feed upon their life essence.



An encounter with the wandering robot Meat-Beat began violently when Allura, thinking him human struck to subdue him, only to find herself pinned to a rock by three feet of tempered steel.

Curious about this unusual creature, the robot waited for her to finish hissing, cursing and clawing at him before she finally ran out of energy.

The two spoke well into the morning about the concept of humanity, before both came to realize that neither had a very firm grasp on the concept.

Covering her with his cloak, Meat-Beat offered his back and carried her along on his travels.

An immortal journey is a long one, he mused, and conversation always helps to pass the time.

With Allura complete, I thought it was time to update my display.

I've come to realize that short of creating an exact replica of his original comic design, I don't think I'll ever stop modding Meat-Beat.
