No, I've not reviewed Buffy or Angel - though I have toyed with doing a Xander-focused rewatch and trying to tot up just how much of an idiot he is... I've actually only watched Angel through once, but have just re-started it. I remember loving most of the first three seasons, thinking it got a bit overblown in the fourth, and then finding the fifth an excellent return to form.

For reviews, I'm thus far limited to MOTU, Thundercats and BraveStarr - but I have TMNT in development, if that floats your boat.....
No problem! I love what you're doing and I want to support you as long as you're doing it!

Haha, the Zander-focused rewatch sounds fun. Yeah, he's had some serious highs and lows. I don't know if you've read the comic seasons, but his character deepens for better and worse.

Was the 4th season of Angel the one with mostly Connor stuff? Yeah, that one was rough, but in my latest rewatch it wasn't as bad as I remembered. Everything else was still really good, though.

Wow, a TMNT one would be my jam. I haven't revisited the cartoons or comics in decades, but I was a HUGE fan and the franchise still holds a special place in my heart. Hmmm... I might have to track those down and dive back in.
Masterverse Want List: Revelation Panthor, CGI Battle Cat & Panthor, 40th Anniversary Battle Cat & Panthor, 200X Zodak, 200X Keldor, 200X Sorceress, Snake Men

    Love all the reviews!
"Tell me I am beautiful - it means nothing to me. Tell me I am intellectual - well, I know it already. Tell me I am funny however, and that is the greatest compliment in the world that anyone can give me".

This week we've got Taking Control, a fairly uneven episode which is ultimately an enjoyable one: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2023...aking-control/

As for TMNT, glad to hear there's some interest! I'll start prepping the reviews at some point soon, if life ever quietens down a bit!

I've not read the comics - I definitely should though. It's worth the time investment?

I think, but can't quite remember, that Connor was a big thing in late season 3 and most of season 4. The Big Bad in season 4 was Zoe from Firefly, if I remember rightly. Glad to hear the Connor stuff is better the second time round. It just felt to me like it didn't have any kind of direction in mind and kept spinning around trying to find one. But it's been 10 years or more since I watched it, so I may well have a new opinion now!

Hmmm, this is another one that I vaguely remember. I remember the main takeaways, so another mostly connective tissue episode.

Rock on! And yeah, I feel your pain on the loud life front.

How in the world did I misspell "Xander" as "Zander?!" SMH

But on the comics, YES!!! Well, the Dark Horse ones marked by Seasons I'll vouch for. The IDW ones seem to technically be canon, but for me they were hard to get through with the storytelling styles and art choices. The Dark Horse ones felt more like the shows in look, pacing, and tone.

Ah, Zoe is Gina Torres, right? I never made it through the Firefly series. I saw Serenity in the theaters and it was decent... I got the gist of the story as a whole. Years later, I tried the first episode and it just wasn't my jam. I heard the show gets better from the first season, so I meant to power through... but it's one of the many things I never got back around to.

I really would recommend giving Firefly another shot: I came to it the same way you did, via Serenity at the cinema, and loved it so much I went out and bought the series DVD box set which was £25, at a time when I was really trying to save and that seemed very expensive! Like you, I really didn't like the opening two-parter - could barely understand what was going on - but because I'd splashed out all that cash on the DVDs I kept trying. If you do give it another go, I'd suggest starting with Episode 3 (The Train Job) which essentially acts as another pilot. Then follow through the series from there, and go back to do the pilot when you've got a better handle on the characters. It's not all gold, but for such a short series there's a lot of fantastic episodes in there: Our Mrs Reynolds was great, Out of Gas is marvellous, and Ariel was outstanding.

But, as noted, there's a lot to do and there's never enough time!!

I've been away the past couple of weeks and though I've remembered to post the most recent reviews to the blog, seems I've forgotten to post the links here. So without further ado, here's:

Shot in the Dark, which was mostly fine but featured Bow at his absolute worst: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2023...t-in-the-dark/

An Ill Wind, which I enjoyed a fair bit: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2023...8-an-ill-wind/

Another good showing this week, with Return to the Fright Zone: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2023...e-fright-zone/

Really not one of my favourites this time: Failsafe. https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2023...e-50-failsafe/

And here's my review of Heart, Part 1, though it seems I was in a bad mood when I wrote it: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2023...-heart-part-1/

And the series concludes with Heart, Part 2: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2023...-heart-part-2/

And that's a wrap, with my series summary: https://hemanmotu.wordpress.com/2023...ies-summary-3/. Thanks to everyone who's read along! Moving on next week to Revelation...
