    Good stuff thread

First off, kudos for The Sad Stuff thread. I am convinced it's beneficial to share our troubles, sadnesses and challenges. That was of immeasurable help to me as I navigated major health issues the last few years.

At the same time, it's positive to share good news and really good things going on in our lives. I know, for instance, that so many orgers are pumped with Power-con 2022 coming this year, in a new venue, meeting old friends and making new ones. And I know Val and his amazing team are very happy about advance ticket sales and the positive buzz. So that's sometime that's really uplfitng for many orgers.

Let's keep both threads going. Let's hear about what's happy and happening in your lives.

    Share...share...

I was promised a Pony /It's a Warcraft meme reference.

Great thread and great idea. For me right now my boss promised me a brand new CPU and Motherboard to replace my old i5 7th generations.

They finally started sharing the guests to be at Comicpalooza, so I could finally buy a VIP pass and start setting up my trip there. It'll be another chance to get the My Hero Academia people I missed last time.

    Well... I'm not dying anymore.

I was was born with biliary atresia that eventually led to my Liver failing in the last couple years.

After years of waiting, we decided to stop waiting on the government donor queue (that had been halted by covid anyway) and despite my original donor chickening out at the last minute, me girlfriend volunteered.

I was, naturally, unhappy about this but doc assured me that it was relatively risk free for the donor. Procedure went off without a hitch.

Spent a long 7+ months of lying around, heavily medicated and looking like Dr. Frankenstein had gotten s***faced and had attempted to build a rough approximation of a small Chinese man from a side of pork with hot glue and a staple gun.

Almost a year later me ladylove and I were recovering well and we just got registered two days ago!

I'm in the midst of making breakfast for my family. It's a beautiful Heartland day and we'll all be dining outside on our patio. The dozens of tress in our grounds are just starting to show buds. After that we're off to the golf course for our first family round for the season, many more to follow. As this day progresses, I am reminded that between a heart attack, a stroke and an 80% blockage in my right carotid artery, which was removed via an endarterectomy, I came very close to not being here with and for my family. That bullet came pretty close, but, with the help of a truly amazing team of physicians and medical staff, I managed to dodge it. For that I am eternally grateful.

There must be more that the Lord still wants me to do -- like bringing smiles and laughter to a new generation of children who are here just a short time from Heaven. Great and wondrous our His ways to behold.

I got my Masterverse Barbarian Skeletor a few days earlier than scheduled!

My wife is on vacation, so we'll get to do a lot of cool things over the next week or so!

One of our puppos had some major digestive issues that seem to be finally working itself out so we all might finally be able to get uninterrupted sleep again!

Prime 1 has another Showcase tonight... although there probably won't be anything I'll want to buy, it'll be a fun experience as usual!

Thanks to wonderful friends, I am actually starting to feel better now, emotionally at least.

I'm so glad I started watching MasterChef last year in hospital, I regret not having watched the series from the beginning, I've made some wonderful new friends, like Depinder, Kishwar, Pete, Scotty, Brent, and Daniel. In fact it was Scotty, with whom I have a lot in common with, who gave some some good advice on dealing with bullies.

Plus, Depinder, Kishwar and I have the same taste in music!

Last year I made Certified Master Naturalist and this year we had a great time at the local wildlife refuge on Earth Day.

Had a great weekend grilling, birthday parties, and golfing.

Hate coming back to work on Monday but glad it affords me the opportunity to really enjoy life when I'm not here

Thank you! She loves sitting down and watching the classic shows (and He-Man, too). We talk about everything that is going on screen. Finding Loo-Kee is her favorite! It's so rewarding that I get to share something that was a big part of my childhood with her.

The mid-late Autumn (soon to be Winter) weather is truly kicking in now - glorious gray skies, rain, chill, mist, and the scent of woodsmoke - and hopefully no hospital unlike last year!

I always dread the hot weather, I'm not good at dealing with the heat.

In good music news, Siobhan Maher-Kennedy (River City People, Kindred Spirit, Oceanic) has new music in the works, it's been a while since her solo album Immigrant Flower was released. She will be releasing a debut single called God Bless The World very soon. Hopefully this is the start of a new album, but I'll be just as happy with a single or an EP.

Awesome new podcast called Cream, Eggs & Jam and it's coming soon from a couple of our favourite past MasterChefs, Elise Pulbrook & Scott Bagnell.

We are Scotty and Elise, an interior designer and lawyer with a common passion for cooking, using all our senses and deeply understanding our food systems. We met as contestants on Masterchef Australia Season 13.

Join us and see who we can meet over a cup of tea and a slice of cake slathered with cream and jam!

We know there are other food nerds out there interested in eating beyond just for mere sustenance – You are our people.*

I'm hoping some of my other favourites will join in, like Depinder, Kishwar, Pete and Brent, as well as Minoli (from both last year and this year), Daniel, Michael and Matt from the new season.

In other awesome and amazing news, Belinda Carlisle has announced she is working with fellow Go-Go Charlotte Caffey on new music as well as co-songwriter Diane Warren. Belinda and Charlotte are wonderful separately, but together they are sublime.

I've also had some very lovely messages from Catherine Sutherland from Power Rangers and Jane Wiedlin from The Go-Go's about my recent health issues and depression. Jane even said I was a sweetheart and a gentleman!

Sorta good news because since 2019, I finally going to have a surgery on my 3 years wounds. I'm honestly surprised it didn't turned into cancer and sadly only people that I knew close to me knows how depth the issue is.

I hope you get well and that nothing else bad happens. I know from experience how harrowing hospitals and surgeries can be, I've had my fair share and hopefully never again!

A wonderful Mother's Day with Kim and our children. Celebrating with presents in the morning and then a great brunch at our favorite restaurant. Mimosas, Bloody Marys, Lobster Eggs Benedict and Prime Rib. It doesn't get much better than this.

Happy Mothers' Day to all you mothers.

I'm getting into MasterChef again this year, what I love about the show is that the contestants actually CARE about each other, it's not just ME ME ME, they share ingredients, help each other, laugh and cry with each other when they perform well or get eliminated, they remain friends even after someone goes home or even after a season has ended, there's no cattiness, toxic masculinity or conflict between them, they are just loveable people which is why I have become such a fan. It's not even really about the food itself (admittedly some people make weird stuff that doesn't really appeal to me). In a sometimes selfish world, it's nice to see unselfish people. It gives me hope for humanity and I've made some really good friends. Last year, Depinder was my favourite and we're still friends as I am with several others. This year, I am really liking the cute firefighter Daniel, so I hope he wins, but I'll still call him a friend after the season has ended along with other people I really like.
