Revelations King Grayskull

King Grayskull as he is depicted in Masters of the Universe Revelations. I'm not huge at all on variants, but when characters look completely different, they have a fighting chance i might take a crack at them. He was relatively easy to make. Recipe: King Grayskull head (two came in the revelations pack), Dekker buck, arms, and legs (repainted), King Grayskull harness, cape, loin and boots. Accessories came with the Revelations King Grayskull. Heres my take on these, i think the head is slightly too small for Classics, but not horrible, the handles for the sword are a bit too thick for Classics hands. Went with more gold accents on the harness as his belt and bracers had more of it on there then silver, differentiate the two more so.

I'm not a huge fan of race swapping characters but the figure looks great, nice work.

Making customs out of multiple Classics bucks has to be getting damn expensive these days though?!!!

Skin color can be very random, especially over generations (King Grayskull is about a thousand years away from He-Man). But even within the same generation, skin color can greatly differ... like these different sets of twins:

Honestly, I'm not a usually a fan of race switching in media... but I think this and Daredevil movie Kingpin were the only two times I really dig it.

First of all... I HATE the concept of King Grayskull. The idea that there was another He-man... who looks JUST like him only he was bigger, stronger, fought the whole Horde by himself while riding a cooler cat and married to the sorceress and living in a better castle is the most Mary Sue thing I've ever seen. I hate anything that takes the main character of a franchise and utterly undermines him by one upping him at every turn. He-Ro was a decent idea for an ancester since he was wizard based not fighter based... 'similar but different' can work all day long. But 'Same just Better' turns me off immediately.

Revelations King Grayskull... Isn't that anymore. He no longer looks JUST LIKE HE-MAN only better. He may be 'first', but we don't really know what that entails. I don't think they ever confirmed he was related to Adam. And there was a whole crowd of He-men in that heaven that Adam had earned his place amongst. Different swords, differnent harness, different appearance... suddenly King Grayskull doesn't seem so bad.
