Yeah... Teela and Evil-Lyn were the focus of the last story arc, so this time, I'm hoping that Randor gets the nod.

SPOP 2018 & MOTU:Re 2021 timeline comparison: (now with all timelines for 2023)
https://www.he-man.org/forums/boards...e-info-(enjoy)
Masterverse collection: 18 (Savage He-Man & Orko counted as 2)
Masterverse wishlist: DreamWorks Catra (S4) & She-Ra (S5)
When the episode count was revealed originally to Revelation, they said 10 episodes. We knew the total amount all this time, there was no quirky wording.(Sure it was split in two parts by Netflix, but nobody ever said five when they meant ten)
For Revolution, they stated there will be 5 episodes.
If there is an order for more beyond that, all the better. And hope to hear that announcement when the appropriate time comes.
But so far when they have announced the episode count, it's been what we got.

With no evidence to back it up, I have a sneaking suspicion that 10 episodes are actually greenlit, but unlike Revelation where the original plan was to drop all 10 episodes at once (before Netflix made the later decision to split them up), the new plan includes another split, but this time knowing it will happen in advance, they will tell two more 5 episode contained stories rounding out a trilogy... and of course they will hold announcing the third of the trilogy until the second hits.
It's my theory because... you don't bring William Shatner in and Mark Hamill back just to record 5 episodes, and Kevin Smith already knows what the third part will be called.

He-Man, unleashed Sorceress and Orko with full control of his powers...Hordak will need some big guns for this.
Easy fix, although I doubt the writers will do it. Stop making the villains into clowns.
Make Hordak extremely powerful.
Make the nanite motherboard virus immune to magic.
Have a hulking powerful Leech and huge deadly Grizzlor.
Make Mantena and especially Modulok into cunning, dangerous creatures.
Tons of Horde Troopers.
But, seeing how ridiculously they treated the Evil Warriors, this is most likely not going to happen. I fully expect Captain Andra to take these guys out by herself after seeing the death of Ram-man, Stratos, and Man-e-Faces.
“I never remember feeling tired by work, though idleness exhausts me completely" - The Sign of Four
It's gonna be exciting!!
Andra is the new Man-At-Arms... if anything, I hope that she is featured even more so that we can get her backstory.
She and Teela should still have a bit of the spotlight so that we can see how their friendship has changed - now that one of them is the Sorceress of Grayskull...

I dunno why people are against Andra so much. Sure, she's essentially a new character, and somewhat underdeveloped, but the best solution for an underbaked character is NOT further reducing their screentime. It's writing 101.
I thought Andra was just fine and no more offensive to me than when I saw the likes of Malektha, Queen Elmora, or any number of "created specifically for the cartoon" characters in Filmation that "took the place" of figures in the story. I will say though that the thing that I found Revelation did better than Filmation is, they introduced new characters and elements while still giving plenty of screen time (in such a short span of episodes) to established MOTU characters- whereas Filmation would feature the main gang quite heavily, have a bunch of Filmation-created side characters in the story, and leave no space for ones I was jonesing to finally see in animated form.
I hope she returns and has a decent sized role in the story, since she is supposed to be higher ranked now. I'd love to see her and Duncan work together to come up with something to foil Motherboard.
As an audience surrogate, Andra could be utilized to introduce more characters that didn't get screentime in other media, by Andra meeting them for the first time, to do world building by explaining things about the lore to the audience via explaining them to Andra, etc. That looks to me to be the real reason for her character, from a writing perspective. I don't know how to get around the elephant in the room, though. Any character that doesn't stay in the the lines is going to get that label controvery. Then the discussion turns all about skin color and gender, from people who swear it doesn't mean anything to them. Is she a great character? Well, she's meh. But she's outside of those strict guidelines, so thats the big deal. Because the point of we will say, Happy silly sea creatures and complain-y beverage consumer is to send a message. That everybody better get back behind those lines and never cross them again. Because doing so is stealing media that belongs to people that look, act, live, think and feel like they do. And nobody else is welcome. But trying too hard to avoid so called controversy also dates MOTU, as it does any older property, and can hold it back from being relevant. Had Andra's character been the best new character ever, it would not have mattered. Truth is, she wasn't. She's literally a character created as a writing tool, to deliver exposition to the audience without looking too clumsy. Its a totally common writing tool. Some writers are better than others of not making that obvious. But four decades after Melaktha and Netossa, etc, the big issue is still about keeping those lines drawn, not how the storytelling really could use some work. I don't have words for how frustrating that is. I would need a lobotomy to ignore it. Does MOTU as a concept need to be kept "pure" and have no "controversal" characters, or be labeled nonsense just to not literally send the message that this property belongs to one kind of demographic, and anybody else is infringing? Is the best we can do just being not enraged if MOTU media acknowledges other people exist? Or slip in differences and then maybe everyone just pretends they didn't notice the backlash so we can actually talk about the story, the lore, the character development? It takes a year of hostility and then everyone pretending there was no hostility just to do that with one character? I'm not trying to be negative. But I would need to be brain dead to un see what happened with Andra. I just can't go back to talking about this like four decades never happened and it's still early 1980s. I'm sorry, but just can't.
I'm afraid you'd find it kind of boring, Adam. There are no giant green tigers, or magical castles, but it's a beautiful place filled with beautiful people.
Remember to stay away from politics and woke discussions. That is for the Tar Swamp forum. Thanks.![]()
My whole point IS how do you navigate the story at all, and keep from being labeled in either direction? I don't know what anybody can do with this story without one side or the other getting mad, like kids pulling a toy apart fighting over it. Every single one of these characters can become "divisive" by any changes, or by having no changes at all. Its like theres no way to everybody happy. That's gotta make it pretty impossible to even come up with scenarios that might make an interesting story. What's the answer to that? Seriously, what is it? I don't have a time machine, so I don't expect anyone else to have one, so making the show exactly like it was is impossible. I get why people hate reboots, sequels, etc. And I get why people love them, too. How is it this show gets targeted for doing less than 1% of things that are totally normal in everything else out there? Arcane, Castlevania, Vox Machina don't have all these issues. And all of those are comparable to this, and are really good. Why is everything tar swamp stuff here, but is a non issue with these other properties?
