    Classics Tuskador custom

    Hey folks,

So Tuskador eh? I'm sure there must have been people who just loved this guy - but I remember being in the camp of people who was actually a little bitter they had to pay so much for this oversize figure that not everyone was really excited for, and then getting stuck crazy international shipping on top of that.

And while the idea of a character who's basically a mammoth turned battering ram sounds awesome - I just never really found my mojo with the design. Or at least, I didn't until I decided to put him under the knife. I'm now convinced there's an AMAZING "space linebacker" figure here just trying to escape.

The only thing left is trying to work out what to do with the shoulders and armour. The cut down armour sortof works ... but it's a little weird across the chest, and those shoulders pad prevent almost all of the shoulder articulation. I did pop them off to see what was under there, but then quickly realized that the arms underneath are sitting way too low for the neck - so I'll either need to work out how to tweak them a bit, or lower the head. But that's going to come back to what I do with the main chest armour.

Anyone else tried releasing the amazing figure inside Tuskador? Any ideas on armour pieces that might work here?

I am just loving the potential this guy has! If I can just sort something out with that armour, I think Ram Man has his new training buddy!

Anyone know what's under the chest armour if I pop it off? He definitely seems to have an extra neck sculpt that Ram Man doesn't have ... but it feels soft, so maybe that's part of the chest armour piece?

Thanks kindly for the pointer there Charlie! You're thinking of the Ram-Man buck shot? That one unfortunately has the chest reversed, so that's Rammy's back. If you look super closely, it seems to hint at two cut out slots on the shoulders for mounting the armour - but still a bit of a mystery what's going on on the front.

If it was just those two tabs at the top, I'd be sorely tempted to just pull the whole thing off I think.

Ah - worked it out. They just put the armour on backwards

I've got some trimming to do (I think I'm going to take off those mount points at the bottom, and maybe open up the face a bit) - but now it feels like some awesome nuclear reactor on his chest, possibly with jets on the back for an extra ramming boost.

    Starting to love this guy.

glad that you've been able to do what you had in mind with his armour.

well, now with the tubes and the turbine on the chest he looks like hydron's bigger brother!

anything in mind for the shoulders?

Now that I've got the armour flipped, the shoulder height actually seems to be work ok. I'm not quite sure if I want to take the rectangular mounts off, or just flatten them down to look more like an insignia on his already gold shoulder top.

I'll likely spend a little more time fiddling with the armour first though just to clean up the bottom, and see if I can get it to sit a little flatter on the chest (the interior molding isn't symmetric, so it doesn't sit easily in the mounts. I can take a pic of the body underneath if anyone is curious (just given I couldn't find any record of what it looked like under there).

That's a cool idea - though probably well beyond my modding skills (which at this point extend to slicing off some rubber and prying parts off their glue).

Is that pic out of one of the books? Power and Honour, or Art of He-man? While I've never really been much of a fan of the NA figures ... this guy has piqued my interest in the line!

Yeah I believe it’s from the art book.

Cool thread. I’ve got one of these guys in a drawer ad I have no idea what to do with him. Reversing the armor does look pretty cool. His neck is comically long if you think about it, hah.
Please check out my custom figures. The first few stink but I get better.

I also wrote a fanfic. See the fanfic board. At least four people like it.

My original plan was just to ditch the armour completely, but one look at his giraffe-like neck made my realize I'd need to keep it ...

Tuskador is one of my favorites in the Classics line, behind only his predecessor Ram-Man. However, I did use an extra Tuskador to make a Son of He-Man Ram-Man II. Just did a little sculpting on the armor and around the neck. Note - I am not the greatest with sculpting but it gives you an idea of what you can do with him stripped of his armor.

Thanks for sharing - love what you did with the neck there! I'm nervous about crossing the sculpting threshold because I suspect anything I did there would be pretty brittle. Hence my very modest "custom". But I'm always really impressed to see figures like this taking it so much further.

Is there an existing reference pic of a SOH Ram-Man somewhere? Or you're just running with the style?

And awesome to see some love for the Tuskador figure! I'm with you - he's right behind Ram-Man. I wish the media portrayals of Ram-Man were as incredible as the Classics figure.

Nice job on this, yeah thats another direction to take this. wayne clops, if you had another set of those shoulder pads i would almost stack that on top of each other to createhis own unique shoulder pads think that would look real cool. Did that with my gamester it looks great!
