    Visionaries vs. SuperNaturals '80s toys

Don't laugh, but I had a dream the other night (more of a memory?) about the old holographic toys that made a splash back when we were kids.

The Visionaries produced by Hasbro back in 1987:

and the SuperNaturals produced by Tonka, also in 1987:

If you were a fan of the holographic gimmick from yesteryear, then these were right up your alley...

I loved them so much when they came out that I remember trading a neighborhood friend of mine all kinds of toys for his SuperNaturals figures that I didn't already have. And, the Visionaries cartoon was all kinds of fun!

So, which did you prefer as a kid: Visionaries or SuperNaturals?

I didn't have any of the figures as a kid but I have the Visionaries figures now, plus the cartoon rocks!

We never got the cartoons but the JC Penny's Christmas catalog convinced me I needed them as a kid so we got 6 of them. Loved those figures.

Super Naturals. They are compatible with MotU. And the Tomb of Doom is a fun playset.

Visionaries for me. They were basically G.I. Joe figures just upsized...

    Visionaries for me.

SuperNaturals were awesome as well but I had more figures from Visionaries, so they get my vote.

Visionaries was awesome. Great cartoon and I had almost all the toys, I just didn't have Mortdredd and the Skyclaw.

The SuperNaturals toys looked cool but I never seen any of them growing up.

Wow!! Lots of support for Visionaries!

I voted for SuperNaturals... those things were just so awesome when I was a kid!

One of my strongest memories of the SuperNaturals figures is when my friend and I took our collection over to the neighborhood church one evening (this is an old school church with great gothic architecture) and set up a huge battle between good and evil. Man, we had a blast that night!

The combination of medieval, horror, mythic, and monster just hit all the right notes for me! (Not to mention the holographic AND glow-in-the-dark aspects!)
