    Power-Con 2023 Official Discussion

Wow! That was quick! Power-Con is coming back to Columbus in August of 2023!

    Here's the press release copy:

We are hitting the ground running for 2023. We had so many vendors who have already asked to return because of their success at the show, along with a plethora of new vendor requests, that we will be opening vendor booth inquiries in the very near future. If you would like to have booth space at Power-Con 2023, please click here to subscribe to our mailing list so you do not miss any notifications about vendor registration, exclusives, tickets and more.

We are already making plans with numerous toy companies for 2023 exclusives. It is very early in the process but we will be sure to tease and then reveal more information when the time comes. So for now, just know 2023 exclusives are in the works.

For Attendees, tickets will probably go up for pre-sale in February or March. We are working to figure out what exclusives can be pre-sold and which will be on-site-only sales. Once we have that figured out, Attendee pre-sale dates can be solidified and announced.

Hotel reservations will also be coming soon. You will be okay to reserve your hotel ahead of Attendee ticket sales. We are 99% confident that day passes available all the way up to the day of the event. The hotel block sold out in both hotels for 2022 and we were able to expand them twice for 2022. But we cannot guarantee we can expand hotel blocks for 2023. So if you know you are coming then be sure to reserve your hotel rooms as soon as reservations go live. Please click here to subscribe to our mailing list so you do not miss out on when hotel reservations are posted.

We are so excited about 2023! You will get to enjoy teasers from toy & collectible companies, to meet creators behind fan-favorite products past & present, to engage with popular social media influencers and professional cosplayers, and to take part in an amazing shopping experience offering retro & modern products. We hope to see you at Power-Con August 11 – 13, 2023 in Columbus, Ohio!

I got my room for the 9th to the 13th. Will probably be there at least a few more days to see some family.

Anyone grabbing some exclusives tomorrow? I think I’m going for the Tweeterhead Minion, myself- maybe one of the Pixel Dan wrestling figs. I think I’m saving most of my money for the floor and a couple toy store trips while I’m there.

I’m thinking of making t-shirts and He-Man.orger nametags or pins(planned on these last year). Any interest?

Anyone know if Val plans on having any key art merch this year? I guess I’ll know tomorrow.

I wish I could get there one day. Perhaps I will someday.

You have to be an attendee and buy tickets to pre-order anything tomorrow, correct?

Yes, I’m Pretty sure. You purchase the exclusives after you choose a ticket, or at the same time.

I’m thinking of driving to PowerCon this year(from California) It’s a crazy notion to do it by myself but, I’ve never driven across the country so, it could be fun!

I just created a new instagram(@toytrotter/ The Toy Trotter)for my toys(just barely started, only one post so far) but, the trip will give me the opportunity to stop occasionally at toy stores, thrift stores…etc. also, quick visits with people on my route that want to see me. I would plan on documenting the whole trip via the Toy Trotter page for fun.

Anywho, just me rambling about thoughts and plans. You may return to your regularly scheduled forums now.

Sounds like that could be fun for you, and really neat to see the Instagram posts.

Maybe I’ll find enough stuff to fund the trip!

If I drive, I’ll be coming through Colorado so, warn everyone you see

I tried, but unfortunately international shipping is just too much. I’m not complaining, just stating the obvious.

Yeah I was going to get one or two of them but after some thought there's really nothing that I am that excited over.

Hey guys, I am thinking of going to this event. I was curious to know if anyone who has been before can confirm its a place where you can buy vintage MOTU and other toys, preferable MOC or MISB and specifically less common items. Has anyone been before that can confirm it being a good venue for purchasing vintage sealed items? I haven't been to a toy show like this in over 25 years, I mainly purchase things online, so any information would help. Videos online seem to show this, just wanted to verify before I go. Thanks y'all!

I was there last year, there was a ton of vintage MOTU, both loose and MISB/MOC. There were lots of rare items like Top Toys, Laser figures, even factory paint masks. Even though it's not officially a He-Man con anymore there remains a strong MOTU presence on the floors

Everything else aside, THIS is exactly how you'll feel afterwards:

And this is over a decade old, but I'd be willing to bet a lot of it still remains the same:

Decided to go ahead and go, its not a time of the year when I have a lot going on and its drive-able. Looking for gift sets, 2 and 3 packs, 8 backs, clear bubble mocs and rare items. I actually don't own the laser figures or the giants either, as I collected mostly USA growing up, but recently decided to go after those and top toys mocs as I ran out of items to find. It looks like a fun time regardless, look forward to seeing y'all there!
