New Adventures as a Year in Origins

First of all, I recognize themes for years can be stretched awfully thin without popular characters from different sources being a major presence in the line. I also recognize the need to continue advancing vintage remakes from the original toyline and don't think you can pause that for a year. However, with a theme like New Adventures, outer space is on the table and a number of MOTU characters are from outer space. Therefore, I'd draw that connection.

Why would characters from Bravestarr be included here?
Try to reach inside of me, try to drain my energy
Let me show you just what I'm made of
Simple curiosity trying to take a bite of me
Let me show you just what I'm made of now...

The only NA I like is Optikk but it's a good idea to put "space looking characters" into the Space Year, so I like having the Comet Warriors, Karg, Multibot, Horde Prime and Dragstor in the mix. I like Wrap Trap a lot but I see him out of context under a NA banner.

BTW Captain Glenn would be a nice addition to the NA.

My concern with New Adventures in Origins is that they'll cut most of the original detail out to keep them in the style of the other figures - like they did with some of the 200x variants.

That's okay if they're doing animated designs, which were less detailed. But if they're doing like Disks of Doom Skeletor I want all the original detail of that toy!

I'm probably the exact opposite. That was the biggest turn off for me as a kid with NA He-man, the difference in the size and shape of the toys.

I'd love to see NA figures in the origins style.

I thought about Captain Glenn and also about Mattel properties like Captain Lazer and Major Matt Mason. My biggest concern is with there being people who just plain dislike the theme altogether. I figured you need to throw those people a few bones to keep them interested.

Comet Warriors, Sy-Klone, Wrap Trap, etc. are there for people who don't care about NA at all.

Sorceress, Man-at-Arms, and Teela are there as an "on ramp" for people who are on the fence about NA (and because they can reuse some or many parts).

Bravestarr is there partly to enhance the credibility of the space theme. That, and Bravestarr and Fuzz (with some tooling variations pre-planned into their molds) can account for nearly every vintage Bravestarr toy released. The Bravestarr toy line (counting the unreleased wave) used parts from those two bodies for nearly every figure. And my plan gets every planned or released 80s Bravestarr figure out except the banker while only devoting two main retail slots to them.

My thought was to try lots of pushing and pulling from various directions to sell the space theme to people who would otherwise reject it -- and still offer about eight to ten releases to people who completely reject it anyway and only care about original MOTU.

I'm assuming people might be hostile to it and essentially trying to onboard those people while still giving them something.

Wrap Trap IS completely out of the visual theme but he's also not hard to include in a mini-comic where the Horde and the Mutants team up.

In terms of NA, I prioritized the characters from the first wave/pilot of the cartoon and assumed that Master Sebrian, Mara, and later NA characters would be less of a draw and could be done later in a non-space year if at all.

"Would you like space if it had more familiar characters? Would you like space if it included Bravestarr? Would you like space if it included Horde and Comet Warriors? No? Okay, fine. Here's Sy-Klone and some other stuff for you."

I think you have to approach NA with the mindset that there may be some skepticism/hostility.

I also nearly threw in a NA Battle Cat slot and made NA Panthor an exclusive with new saddle/armor just to give it something new and familiar. Ultimately, I thought Thirty-Thirty was essential if you're doing Bravestarr and Blasterhawk was a nice sci-fi vehicle. Especially since it has a mechanical gimmick with the Eternia playset.

I don't mind them being in the Origins size and with the beefy buck, but I still want those details. The Evil Mutants were highly detailed figures.

Your idea is good. I will buy vintage figures, Horde Warriors and maybe I could.give a chance to NA depends.on how they look in Origins standard shape.

They were but you look at classics and saw what was done, they fit in flawlessly, although man had orignal parts crafted for them, but that just added to the part library for other characters

Captain Lazer as a Master of the Universe could work!
I'm not a fan of Bravestar but I admit to add this line to the Space Theme would help to increase the interest.
